Default turbine mounting

I'm mounting a K-80 in a used Avonds F16, and I dont have the installation manual, so my question is: what should be the gap between the exhaust cone of the turbine and the mouth of the steel exhaust tube be. On average, how big is the gap?
Thanks
Jerry

Thanks for the reply and the download. I do have the manual for the K-80, but nowhere in it does it make reference to the required space between the end of the exhaust on the turbine and the mouth of the stainless tailpipe.
Anyone??

My K-80 manual on page 36 shows 20-30 mm.

Default RE: turbine mounting

These are typical values for all manufactures
Jet Central Rabbit recommends 20 to 25 mm for example.

I was told that to find the ultimate position the manufactures adjust the pipe as described below.

(Disclaimer - WARNING this procedure could be dangerous and should not be attempted!) [X(]

Basically the pipe needs to centered and mounted so it can not loose its center position in relation to the tail cone, but can be slid fore and aft in relation to the tail cone (i.e. requires a fixture), you run the Turbine up and slide the pipe either away or towards the tail cone to find the neutral spot, it will either try to push the pipe away or pull the pipe closer, the neutral point is the ultimate position. I believe this is how manufactures come up with their recommendations so you don't need to perform this test yourself.

I am not personally recommending you try this, this is just for information only...
