THE MOST BEAUTIFUL AIRPLANES

RE: THE MOST BEAUTIFUL AIRPLANES
... I cannot decide ...
Lots of people say the Spitfire is the most beautiful aircraft ... but WHICH Spitfire model?
In the Spitfire family, I'm torn between a few of the Griffon powered ones: Mk XIV? Seafire Mk 17? Seafire Mk 47?

OK the only reason that I mention this is because of the nickname that it had.... I was a crew chief on the C-124...you know a million and a half rivets flying in loose formation., and it wasn't one of the slickest things in the air ...if you know what I mean.

It HAD to be the slickest thing in the air! Covered in that much oil NOTHING would stick to it!

I would have to vote for the WACO YMF-5. It has to be the sexiest bipe ever built.
Had the pleasure of flying in a new Super WACO YMF-5D a couple years ago and it is a sweet ride. Something great about flying in an open cockpit plane.

All the aircraft mentioned so far share a common feature: They are slick, smooth-skinned metal birds. My idea of beauty is a bit different.

QUOTE: "I'm not one to fawn over airliners, but I think you got to add the Conny to the list. Long legs, big cans, and plenty of curves - there's not a straight line on it. To me it seems to have an iconic art deco feel that will never be outdated. " Bill

If aircraft were women, the T-38 Talon would be Cheryl Tiegs. Timeless classic beauty.

J3 Piper Cub, have one from parkflyer to 1/4 scale. Low and slow no other way to fly. Second would be the corasir, love the gull wings.
Happy flying to all from sunny AZ[8D]
