Twin Flyer,
I have had to refinance my home. You can have the SA60 I reserved.

Hi all,

For those that want the printed manual, let me know when I contact you about sending your kit. I just tried to upload the PDF here and it is too large. So I'm posting it to my web site at this URL: http://www.ne-aero.com/xfer/MKII_Manual.pdf. The file is up but might take a while to percolate through the ethernet servers out in the web. Let me know if there is any difficulty getting the file downloaded. Rember to Right Click the link and "Save Target As" to download.

I would prefer to have the printed instructions and would gladly pay any additional cost.  My computer skills are not that great and not sure how to use the instructions from a computer file. Thanks, Ed Tate

Hi I saw this thread and I would like to know if you have a website. I have your train Air 20 that I bought at a swap meet and that is one of the best trainers Ive ever had. I would also like to know if you have plans available for your other airplanes such as the train air 40. Thanks Michael J

I purchased the Twin Air when it was still being made. This is one of the better kits that I have built. Good quality of balsa, and parts fit excellent. This is also a good kit to modify. I am enclosing a couple of pictures of my modified kit in the bones. I really like the twin tail.

EDIT...I uploaded larger pictures than the original post.

I uploaded larger pics.
The main mod I made was putting the turtle deck on the plane. I like that Ultra Sport look.
The twin tail with enclosed push rods was a mod add on at the time I purchased the kit. I like the look, and the extra work was worth it.

Greg,
the larger pics make a huge difference. Love what you did with the fuse!

What did you do to my plane!!!

Yes, this is a Mark-I plane with several modifications - clear canopy, modified fin/rudder and it looks like it is fitted with retracts.

Nice job on the modifications!

John,

Thanks for the great kit. You and Bruce Tharp are two of the better kit manufactures out there.
Yep...I put retracts in it.

Very nice work Greg!
I also noticed the retracts.
Which ones did you use, and do they work well?
Thanks.

I used B&D air operated retracts.
They seem to work well in the plane on the work bench.
This project got set aside, and has been sitting in the bones for a while. This is the winter I get back to it.

They definitely work in the Mark-I wing but the Mark-II wing is thinner than the Mark-I wing.

Hi all,

Well, it has been a fun week trying to get my plotter back up and operational. All the new parts fit fine but the plotter just wouldn't print anything. I finally put a call into a friend of mine, Allan, who owns Wright Brothers R/C (http://www.wrightbrothersrc.com/). Allan had an old plotter that he didn't need any longer and gave it to me for this kit run. We had hoped his plotter would work right at the get-go. Alas, it too was mostly dead. However, I was able to use parts from both plotters to get one plotter fully operational and the plan sets are plotting now as I type this post. If you're ever in need of a Gambler DLG or any of the other products Allan makes, I'd appreciate if you send your business his way. His generosity saved each of you $25 per plan set.

That's the good news. Now for the "bad news". I now have a finalized pricing schedule for the kits in this group. I have to say I really miss the days when balsa was inexpensive and of excellent quality. But that is a discussion for another time. If I were to make the Twin-Air .45 Single Tail kit today, using today's balsa prices, it would cost me $232.84 to produce (I used to sell it for $160/kit) and the Twin-Tail version would be $236.01. It is hard to compete with China using balsa that is this expensive today, especially since they are closer to the raw material and save on shipping, labor, tariffs, taxes, and no middleman. Using the materials I had on hand at the prices I bought them and then supplementing with new materials as needed, the cost of the kits to you guys comes out at:
[*]Sport-Air .60 $135.00[*]Twin-Air .45 Single Tail $145.00[*]Twin-Air .45 Twin-Tail $150.00[/list]Most of you liked the PDF manual and that is great. For those that want a printed color manual the cost is +$10. The wing tip blocks for these kits are part of the customer supplied balsa. They are cut from a single piece of 2" x 3" x 18" balsa. For an additional $10, I can provide your kit with a rough-shaped set of wing tips. I had to make these cuts in the kits to keep the prices down.

Method of payment should be either (PayPal +3%) OR (Money Order) + actual S&H (UPS Ground).

I'll be working up the shipping costs to each of your addresses (if you provided me with your address) and will be sending out PMs tomorrow with your total cost for the kits you reserved. When I ship the kits, if you sent me your email address, you will get "ship", "exception", and "delivery" emails from UPS tracking the progress of your shipment.

Since the kits cost more than the original guesstimate and I know people's personal situations change, there will be no hard feelings if you have to pass on the kit you reserved. There is a waiting list beyond the original participants of this thread. Which is good, because my wife wants her living room back for the holidays

Thanks John,

I really appreciate all your work here, and I'm looking forward to building the kits.

I believe I sent my address & contact information. I will probably pick up a postal money order and send, soon as I see your note.

Best wishes & happy holidays,
Dave Olson

I just love saying the check is in the mail. Thanks again John for makinig these available to us. This one will be a bit on the back burner but I promise it will get built.

Just as an aside while I was checking to see if I had your mailing address in my old emails I came across an email I sent to you after you closed up shop in 2010 expressing a desire for blueprints on the TwinAir 45. I've had a long desire to build one of these ever since Bill Robinson commented on how well they flew.
