compressor is chinese made...
close tolerance between compressor and cover intake, lubrication oil in front of each bearing, diffuser with air hole for lubrication flow,
injector ring in the rear of combustion chamber.., exaust cone 1,5mm diamenter bigger than original draw

need improvement for lower the egt at higt rpm

That's interesting any pictures. I'm planning to purchase a UT-160 kit for my RHINO.

what is your problem?
do you have the same problems as Gerald Rutten has?
Surge?
i am a friend of him
i designd so many engines
for big companies , nothing is new for me
let me have a good video , not one you post here, because i can not hear anything on that
and show me what is your problem
do not think its the compressor or diffusor or feulrings
dont listen to those people who tells you they know everything about turbines, but never build one
do like i tell you
and toghether we get the engine running like a dream
well first of all
i want to know what is your problem
if its surge
then its easy
but first let me know oke?

Guys, I am resurrecting this thread cause I know you guys have good experience in turbine. I have few questions:
1. 81 mm Borg&Warner compressor wheel is used by GR 220. Here 81 mm is exuder or inducer dia?
2. Have Rutten released GR220 plans yet?
3. Is there any correlation between compressor wheel design and diffuser angle in GR 180 design. I am asking this because I am not able to find
Schwitzer compressor wheel. Any other automobile turbocharger of same inducer/exuder dia will do? or I will have to modify the diffuser angle?
4. How did you guys machined the diffuser cover inner curves which remains very close to inducer & almost follows its contour?

Thank you. I hope you guys are reading this and will reply.

Chrigui, I read this thread n times..you are here from the beginning. I really admire you. Great work really. Can you share your experience a bit. Do you have page like GR? Any online repository from where I can see your design or pics. I am a leaner and intend to build one turbine. Its been 4 year since the last post here, you must have improved your design a lot. Hope that You would share it.

the design is the same of gerald web page..
only exhaust cone is different because with long cone (jetcat style)
there was less trust than short cone as frank turbine design..
Combustion chamber is ut 160 design

schwitzer compressor is now hard to find..can I use garret GT3782
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Garrett-GT37...hUjPjC&vxp=mtr
in GR 180 design? This one is used in UT160 I guess. It has same inducer dia..the exuder will have to me turned & then balance it.

what is the relation between the diameter of tubine engine(or say thrust capacity) and its CC length? Cause I think the length of CC of a p120 is almost same as p180. Is it true? I didn't find any such relation in kamps book but I think the length of CC should increase with higher turbine diameter or say higher thrust capacity but I don't find any mathematically relation so far. Any help guys !!!

Hi All

I am looking at building the UT160-ZA turbine. Really struggling to purchase the plans for the UT160, have send a request off to Ulrich (the designer) at www.ut160.de.tl as I am interested in purchasing the plans.
Have not had any luck with procuring them yet.
Do you know where I can buy the plans for the UT160?

Thanks
Nico
