i'm not sure what to think of it yet.  it could be awesome or a dud.  i have never messed around with gas powered rc anything.  all my planes and cars/trucks are nitro.  this christmas i am getting a gift certificate to tower hobbies and i was planning on a mgt 8.0 or a savage x.  i was leaning toward the mgt.  i would love to know when the octane is going to be released and a ball park idea of what the price is going to be.  what do you guys think about the price range?  if it's $600 or less i'm in.  i would go up to close to $700 but that's it.  think of all the money you would save on fuel!

mgt 8.0 it is! it's kinda like a hybrid car. you don't come close to just breaking even when you consider price of car vs. fuel savings.

the $400 savings=16 gallons of nitro! plus i would really miss the sounds and smells of nitro. from what i have read the octane is supposed to be quiet.

Maybe a DUMB question but what the hell.....Why do you all want one of these? We have no idea how it will perform.... it could be a real turd. I am really fasinated by the "Want" factor this truck has already. We already have many versions of the Savage, what about the octain specifically that makes you want it?

Gasoline?

Not trying to offend anyone, just curious.

I would not get one because the cost is too high. Nonethess, there are a lot of benefits if the performance is there. Compared to nitro, gasoline engines are more reliable, easier to tune, have longer run times and cheaper fuel.

Tower hobbies has it listed on their site. Benefits mainly will be much cheaper to run it. $30 for gallon of nitro compared to $4 for gallon of gas
