That comes out to about 8lbs, if my math is right.
The info sheet specifies a 290KV motor. I have an e-flite 90 325KV looking for a home,
that I am told is good up to 8lbs with 8c on a 17x10 APC.
Or would I need to be below 300KV?
Thanks in advance for any comments.

It looks really nice, much better than the original Leo. If you already have the motor, it might be worth a try. I tried 3 different motors on my Angel before I settled on the one which seemed to work best. The funny thing about it was that I already had the motor I ended up using, but started out with another one which I also had. Go figure, 50/50 chance and I picked the wrong one. The thing I learned from this was not to trust the performance calculators too much; the have not way of telling you what flying the plane will be like.

I ordered the Leo V2 110 from Nitroplanes. Received confirmation for delivery 12/11. I will post pics when I get it.
I must admit I was a little nervous about the Nitroplanes service "stigma" that has plague this and other sites with not so favorable responses......but from my experience up to now, the customer service has been outstanding. They have bombarded me with emails regarding the status of shipping etc... So far so good..!
Going to use the Turnigy G110 Brushless 295kv for power and Castle Ice 100 ESC

If you have any issues with nitroplanes, just go to their support thread in the ARF forum. I got a plane from them that was missing some hardware. They did not have what I needed to make it right, so they told me to buy what I needed and submit the receipts. They promptly reimbursed me.

Whats up with Nitro planes ????
They raised the price of their airplane to $550.
Like a no name 110 is worth that much.....!
100 bucks more and someone could buy a 2m Vanquish or other real planes on F3A
Bad move

Ouch!!
With such small volumes for Pattern planes I guess the previous price
just was´nt viable.
With shipping to Mexico and taxes that would put it around $800!
You are right there Flyer88, the Vanquish would be a better bet.
Meanwhile, plan B for the E-flight 90 on 8cels will be to convert my trusty
eight year old Desire (McConville) and then move on to a Vanquish with a 10C Himax 200 set up.

RE: Nitroplanes f3a arf
I just received my Leo V2 - Its really well made and light! Workmanship is spot on. I paid $350.00 including shipping. I would not pay $550.00 for a 110" FA3 plane even one built as well as this is. Maybe they raised their price because of demand...wishful thinking is its a typo! They originally had it at $350.00 plus shipping - they gave me a discount # to use. I think it was around 10% off. Shame they (Nitroplanes - AKA the distributor in USA) did that really as its a really well constructed aircraft by -

Send them an email and see what they say about the new price.

I have the kit too. I think the new price 550 is an error...but I got mine before the website change as a Christmas present.
This is my first pattern plane that I hope to use at our clubs contest in 2013. It is shockingly lightweight to be from CMP! I found the 'on the web' manual to be nice but locating the CG kind of goofy. The carbon fiber landing gear wasn't pre-drilled. The canopy latch didn't line-up but it was fixed in less than a minute using an drill bit. The cowl (beautifully painted) and wheel pants seem overly heavy to me. The covering job is first rate, above my expectations for an ARF.
The side supports for the rudder servo tray is really weak and I question the use of the lightening holes through out the structure. My power will be from a Tacon Big Foot 110 (295kV) on 8S
I would love to take pictures but wife reminded me that it is a gift...put it away

RE: Nitroplanes f3a arf
Wow,
I thought it was a mistake because it first read something like.. regular price 449.00 and on sale for 20% off at 550.00. I know 20% off of 449.00 is not 550.00 .
I appears to be a great deal at 359. A single youtube video isn't too convincing to justify much more than that.

RE: Nitroplanes f3a arf
Opened my Christmas present
Here are some weights:
Fuselage-27oz (w/rudder)
Stabs -2.75 oz each
Wings - 9.25 and 9.0 oz
Cowl - 4.25 oz
Struts - 2.5 oz (total)
W/pants -1.0 oz (total)
Wing spar -1.5 oz
Stab spars - .5 oz (total)
Since I only peeked at when it was delivered, I stopped inspecting a little past the canopy. The covering is really interesting at the vertical fin, looks like it was resting on the box end for a while. I will post a picture tomorrow if any one is interested.

RE: Nitroplanes f3a arf
I think $350 is the mark for this plane.
I won't pull the trigger until I see $350.
My Helios was $365.....and it was a proven plane with a track record.
