vintage r/c radios
My father had passed down four boxes of old, vintage RC equipment that I am interested in selling. If anyone is interested please contact me by e-mail at [email protected]. If I can get feedback from any of you old timers on here, it would be much appreciated. I currently don't have any of the equipment working but most of it is in good condition and I need help getting it working. Here is a list of the equipment that I have in my possession.
1 Sampey 404 with Receiver and servos
1 Galloping Ghost controlaire TX
1 controlaire electronics transmitter
1 simpulsel testor R/C CO
1 CG Venus transmitter
1 citizen-ship contest transmitter
1 citizen-ship transmitter
2 Minx powermasters
1 Kraft custom 12
1 orbit transmitter
1 citizen-ship dual channel receiver
1 dual proportional transmitter
Ace Radio Control
I have been flying models for years and with a little help I should have no problem getting some of this working, I just need a point in the right direction. Thanks!

Scratch, these things appear on Ebay on a regular basis. Do a search there on their completed items to see if any have sold recently. You can also ty listing them there. Dan.

No problem Scratch!!! Well Vic sometimes I feel like an old timer!!! A lot of neat stuff but I've got so much of it I need to slow down!![]
Now the Sampey system would be cool. I can remember you could tell the guys who flew the Sampeys because they had one arm bigger than the other because the transmitter weighed so much!!

I thought that title was held by the Quadruplex radio. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_11349119/tm.htm

I am writing to let all of you vintage radio control enthusiasts out there know that I purchased several of these radios in January and they were never delivered. Fortunately, the person I paid the money to (who was not the seller) did grant me a refund through paypal. I was able to file a dispute and then a claim in time.

Michael/Bob,
I just checked the weight of my vintage Controlaire Tx. Only 3 oz or so short of 3 lbs. Did the Quadruplex Tx top this?

I just weighed my red-anodized Quaduplex transmitter and it weighs a whopping 5.9 pounds (2526 g). This includes the orignal batteries and antenna. The dimensions are 10.5"H X 7"L X 4"W. I've also heard that the earlier grey colored Quadruplex are even larger.

Bob,
Good grief!!!! That was.........heavy. I guess Quadruplex radios werethe top of the line backthen, and that perhaps extra weight would increase that Cadillac-feeling. 6 lbs is a lot though. Perhaps the flights were generally rather short back then?
Edit....I just saw your latest update regarding the purchase. Glad you got your money back. Some people do make you wonder...

RE: vintage r/c radios
Hey everyone, I still have a lot of this stuff for sale. Bob, I once again apologize for the mistake in the shipping. I simply misspelled the address on the package. We did get the package returned to us and offered to send it back out to you but you refused. Also we refunded all of your money via Paypal so other than my initial mistake the situation was resolved. I sold other radio equipment to an individual in the Netherlands with no problems simply due to the fact that the address on the package was correct. The entire situation was my fault though and I again apologize.
Anyway, we sold the Orbitz and the Kraft 12 channel but everything else is still up for sale if anyone has anymore offers. I also have pictures of everything listed just e-mail [email protected]

I bought two old ground based transmitters at a farm sale. One is a Walt Good TTPW,has control box but no receiver or Ant.The other is a single ch with a click button.Have no idea where they came from or who built them.
I will send pictures when I learn how again. I used to no how to do this but had a serious health problem and was in a coma for days. Alot of thing escaped my simple mind.Any one interested.
