Default 1/4 Aviatik D1 Berg

Hello. I was wondering if anybody is familiar with the Aviatik D1 and if you would know where I could find documentation on the aircraft? I am trying to build an example from some very basic plans and need detail info in a bad way. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks. Pat.

Try Hannan's bookstore www.hrunway.com
He sells a lot of the Windsok publications on ww1 aircraft, and there is an issue devoted to the Berg D1 which may still be available.

Default Aviatic D-1

Pat,
There is a restored Aviatic D-1 in existance. It was in a museum in california as I remember...Champlin fighter museum perhaps, but I'm not sure.
Perhaps BobBanka has a photo pack of it?

Hope this helps...

Cheers, Nigel

Thanks Nigel! Another R/C Univ. friend put me onto them. However, they purchased the aircraft sometime ago from a gentleman in Austria who had done the restoration. Unfortunately, none of the documentation came with it. Alas, I am relegated to reffering to any documentation where I can find it. If you think of any pubs or organizations to try, please email. I appreciate any and all help on this one. Thanks! Pat.

Pat,
I just spoke to my father and he checked his files and found that he has several pages of information on the D1 including a 1/72 scale drawing. Interested?
Also, he sells aviation books, mostly to plastic scale modellers, and he's going to check at the store and see if he has, or can get anything on the type. I'll let you know if he comes up with anything else.

If you're interested, e-mail me your snail mail address and I'll pass it along to him and he will send you copies of his stuff at least.

Cheers, Nigel

Hello Bernhard! I am pleased to be talking to a fellow lover of WWI aviation from the other side of the planet! Thanks for your reply! This has been a very difficult subject to find data on. I have just a few resources, but none of them are very good. You say you received plans from the Austrian War Museum? I would greatly appreciate it if you could supply me with the address or email address so that I could contact them myself. I would also love to see your project if you could email pictures. My address is [email protected]. Thanks again and I will look forward to hearing from you! Pat.

I forgot to ask, but how do I search on the website you were so kind to provide a link to? I am not sure how to read the menu list. Thanks! Pat.

Hi Guys -

I too am very interested in a scratch build of this fine WWI aircraft in either 1/3 or 1/4 scale. Please let me know if there's any information or plans sets available that I could reasonably acquire.

Thx - Tom
