73" Raven ARF problem
Hey all-
I got this skyline r/c raven yesterday and began the build. For a brand I haven't heard much about, I have been extremely pleased with the construction of this ARF. All the glue joints, except for one, are solid, light weight, and appear to be bulletproof (you know what I mean.)
The one joint, on the right wing panel, the rear dowel pin wasn't sufficiently glued in place, and I knocked it inside the wing during test fit on the wing tube/fuselage. Anyone of you have a quick/permanent/solid/long fix for this without me having to butcher the wing? I might add, it's covered in Ultracote and looks like they did a good job.
Thanks.
Donivan

I round the sharp edges af all rods. I also GENTLY file the holes of ANY snug tubes. I first find, if possible, a rod & tube that slide together. Then use that sized drill bit to open the snug hole.
WARNING !!! DO NOT RUN THE DRILL BIT IN THE FOWARD DIRECTION !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It can catch on the thin tube wall & rip the living daylights out of the tube !!!
Only run the drill bit ........BACKWARDS........The NON CUTTING DIRECTION.
I have been able to open up some kinked tubes that way. It can take a minute or 2 if it is kinked badly.
Be damm carefull running the drill bit until it is lined up inside the tube ! If you slip ?? You can shove the spinning drill bit into your hand or arm. Damm near did that.............

RE: 73
I am not sure if i understand what you are asking but if I do and you have to pull a dowl back out that has been pushed inside your wing what you might be able to do is make up a tool like I have made out of an old screwdriver..I welded a servo screw on the end of it and I use it for things like that and pilot screwing before CAing screw holes etc. what you would do would be first drill a little way in with a 1/16" bit then twist in with the screw tool then pull back...I hope this makes sence...If you dont have a welder I am sure you must know somebody who has one or if worst comes to worst go to a welding shop and get a pro to make you up a tool...You will find it very handy ...I also use mine for placing parts in tite spots where its hard to reach...You just screw the piece on the end and push it where you want it and then back the screw out...
