Default DLE-85 85cc Gas Engine at troybuiltmodels.com

I just got word the new DLE-85 is available from DLE and TBM has them available for pre-order right now! If DLE ships our order soon enough we expect to have them within this month!

We will be doing a promo of a 2 Year Warranty, Free Shipping, IBEF, and NGK Spark Plug.

Additionally, the first 10 customers who place a pre-order with us and mention this post will get the items above WITH an additional 5% off!

Specs to be posted soon, but as you can tell from the pics, the engine looks real nice!

I need one of these for my Dominator1500. what are the un-drilled mounting lugs for on the cylinder? rear exhaust location?

Are you talking about the single hole in the center of the cylinder between the leftover casting marks? Looks like DLE keeps improving the quality of the finish. Nice!

Knowing DLE, if this engine meets their target goals, they will probably visit a rear Exhuast design in the future, however with a single cylinder of this size, there is bound to be some vibration, which is the reason for the ISO mount they designed to keep everything in one piece, It will take some engineering to design a muffler that will hold up to it as well.

A while back I posted a comment inquiring about DLE developing a 85cc engine.
This was after they introduce the DLE 170. The opinion then was DLE would not
make a 85cc single.

I'll be watching this thread closely for specs. and performance!
This could be the engine I need to replace my 3W75.

"as you can tell from the pics, the engine looks real nice". So does the DLE55 till the crank snaps inflight....... Dont be misled, this engine could be a turd too. I'll patiently be waiting for results.

We should have the 85cc engines in stock the end of this week or the first of next. We will run one right away and let you know how they are. I have had several conversations with Donglin about this engine and I think we will like it very well.

I was being literal, the engine literally looks nice also with that mount! DLE always seems to be refining their casting technique. We will run it and see for ourselves how it holds up internally. DLE Engines have been around for quite some time. It would amaze me if they screwed something up that bad after being in the game for so long but of course we will see.

We will also have a running video and unboxing video as soon as we get them in. We too are interested to find out its weight and how well their iso mount holds up!

well if they don't have problems out of the gate with this engine it will be a first for a 85 .that in it's self will really say a lot for how much they have improved and learned. I must say I am a little worried about those long stand offs on a 85 hard to believe those ears will stand up . anyway time will tell . Roger

Specs, manual, exploded view, and dimension drawings added to the [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_11356079/anchors_11356079/mpage_1/key_/anchor/tm.htm#11356079]First Post[/link].

Based on the drawing, you can see the cylinder is straight though the fins are slanted.

The engines have a very nice muffler, much better than the 35RA and 55RA.

Tom,

When you bench run the engine please check the DB level of the muffler.
