RE: huge scale FE race boats
measurements is 52 inches with hardware is 53 inches.i biuld these to be badboys on the ponds or the ocean which they race thiese types in the BOMBA (bermuda offshore model boating association) league.im in the process of a 58 inch cat with dual 1/4 drive line and hardware powered by a (2) 75mm octura props with (2) 300 amp 70v 3-16s esc with (2) 12.000 watt 16HP 9Y motors powered at dual 12s setup for 24s.
sounds like a beast to me that i got in my hands.once im done with my website ill be able to post more, but these boats are for sale as RTR.
every boat i make all have 1/4 drive line with 75mm octura props and 1/4 scale hitech servos.
im trying to bring out my boats into the market which the red mono on the pic is almost done and yes it will be for sale for a affordable price that my friends say im crazy to sell a RTR boat that cheap.lol

Gorgeous boat! How many large FE boats have you built?
What is the Kv of the motor?
How many amps does it draw on average?
1P or 2P? Capacity?
What is the speed of the boat?
Any video of this particular boat running?
.

RE: huge scale FE race boats
I think people need to see these boats, you say you have one for sale so lets see it inside and out. Also no one is going to buy something unless the setup is a tried and tested one.Whos hull is that in the pics ie who manufactured it,your post is very vague and we have no pics of whats inside or a video of one running, giving us the specs from the manufacturer of the mootors tells us very little really,in fact which motors are you talking about what brand.

The person who biulds the boats from mold is my buddy vern from orgeon.hes been biulding boats for over 20 years.the testing i havent done yet due to the surf in hawaii is crazy.im not on planning running the boat on 6-7foot waves my friend.the pond here is just to small to accomodate the size of the boat to even test its full potential.and so ill post more when i do the actual speed reading on this badboy.patience is something i learned from my past when i had no intention of swimming to retrieve a boat.lol

Ohh i think plenty know of Vern if its Vern Kilmer your talking about ?,Cobra hull ?.I find it strange that you wont show photos of your boat inside and also showing the hardware setup if you plan on selling any,why even start this thread if you dont want to show us anything .

RE: huge scale FE race boats
Im not saying i wont show the inside im just putting it out there that its almost done.im in the army so time to finish the boat which all i gotta do is install the motor mount and motor and radiobox is what i gotta do next,as you will know time is not a essence being active duty and constantly in the field.ill post the inside pic.i have nothing to hide,i rather finish it and ahow it off than show off a partially done boat.and yes vern is a great buddy of mine which i can say his hulls are pretty much great.

hey Area51;
if that ESC is what I think it is, make sure it is programmed properly before hitting the water.
and for starters, I would go with a smaller diameter prop.

Yup i know how to set those up properly.as for some people who had bad experiences, they fail to patiently look it through.these arent fightercat esc as they look apart the programming on these are easier.

RE: huge scale FE race boats
I should have posted that the boat your looking at is a 56" catamaran with SSS5694 1200kv motors running on 8s lipos and sport runs with 6s. The props are stainless 5517/3.
I shure would like to see a video of your boat with those 75mm props! please let me know what kv the motors are nad the lipos that your using. if you under 20000 rpms I could see how this could be a fast boat. 75mm are a gas prop and so the rpms are 18000 or less with gas! Run higher than that and you will smoke esc's and motors!!!

RE: huge scale FE race boats
Hi yes cathy is greqt.alot of people get mistaken on programming them.they presume that its fightercat esc but the way ben explains onprogramming them via software is wrong.so i like these esc's.they can really handle.and about the prop system yea i stepped it down.i realuzed i was going beyond over my head.i switched down to a 57mm prop with a 1.4 pitch 2 blade octura.so im learning from all you who give good advice.and for my motors they are 12,000watt motors that are pretty good motors that can boogie.

RE: huge scale FE race boats
The more you buy the cheaper they get. I bought 3 esc's at once and the 280 amp 3-16s that you see in my boat cost 180.00 each. shipping was free but I waited 3 plus weeks for delivery. I also have recieved esc's from them in a week and paid 38.00 shipping for fast shipping. Your choice there.
