I have been reading this thread and havent seen any photos of smoke systems , location of smoke tank . I know there are 3 tanks in the plane but i would have thought they were just for fuel ? Any photos out there ?

I sacrificed one of the saddle tanks for smoke, still enough left for my P160 for 7-8 mins flying time at high power.
My set-up with a double stainless steel tubing, reaching into the exhaust gasses, some 10cm behind the engine does not deliver the smoke I sometimes witness with others. Plus on full throttle the fluid seemed to ignite, as we heard a few times loud bangs with smoke on. (staccato afterburner haha!) Need to experiment more into that with fluids, pump pressures, nozzles and the lot.
As I will be doing a complete overhaul of the innards ( I learned lots of better tricks last few years) I will redo the smoke system also. But I will keep the one tank for smoke. Full of fuel in the three tanks plus another 1,5-2 lt smoke tank will make yr plane too heavy, and possible passing (our) 25kg limit.

Of course I can measure my tanks with water before I install the tanks, but: Does anybody know the capacities of the saddle and main tanks?

Richbran, your smoke nozzles are too far back. Put them about 3-4 cm behind the tailcone and about 2cm in from the outer edge of the tailcone. (Towards the edgde of the exhaust, not in the center of it)

which pipe is in that h500 ? does yours hover level ? My friends needed to be leaned back all the time because of the thrust all the time. I'd Love to build a h500 myself some time ... ( after another 412 )

I am a little confused about the servo horns. Which sizes should I use where? With the kit are 4 bigger shaped angled and three smaller shaped straight up (see picture). Both sizes are equal in height. First I thought I should use the four bigger on the ailerons and flaps and the three smaller for the elevators and rudder. But there is a possibility, that two of the bigger are meant for the elevators, which implies that two of the straighter horns are meant for e.g. the flaps (more possible movement).
Unfortunately the pictures on the Skymaster web site, under "MB-339 Building Instructions", which illustrate the horn installation, are missing...

Somebody who can help me out with this?

I made extra ones anyway so to have double horns in which a ball link can be clamped. I use the ball links that have a small "collar" on both sides of the ball for this. For me the best ones are supplied by Toni Clark(page 116 on their catalog http://www.toni-clark.com/ftp/Kat_11...04_2010_de.pdf )

Look at my post 108, in order to have a better angle for the flaps, put them in reverse so You have a better geometry, my flaps stay rock solid when either in UP or DOWN.

I have to look at my model (in the attic at the moment) where I put the smaller ones.

The pipe is from tamjets.
From personal experince, (tuning the Hughes 520 Notar) I know it is very important to follow the CG recommendation fom the manufacturer / Vario,in this case..

I am about to start building a MB 326 from Scratch, 1/4.5 scale .Apparently both the MB 326 and MB 339 used the same wing sections in the full size. I am trying to find out what wing section is used in the MB 339 and what is the wing and horizontal stab incidences of the 339 model.

i havent got that far yet mine arrived 4 days ago , intresting question i am using the o ringed airline quick connect and powerbox sero quick wire connector . I see the factory uses an allen bolt idea to secure the wing .

I use the mounting tabs that slip in under the main wing tube, and also threaded inserts into the wings by the intakes, with bolts holding it from the inside. Rock solid, and easy to secure. I also use DB-9 connectors for the servos and a airpower 5 port quick air fitting ... so wings slip on, 4 bolts in, and that's it , ready to fly

I just use the supplied bolts and not additional means for attaching it. I do use Airline Quick Connects instead of the supplie connectors and maybe that also helps the wings to stay in place. My planes has been flown hard and no problems with the original bolts.
