It would be good if it came off, but i wonder just how many war burial sites of more than aircraft there are in even the united kingdom, over here, we have a little show called Stars & Stripes, its an american classic car show, there is always an american WW11 contingent, half tracks, jeeps, tanks, even machine gun emplacments!!! i was there 2 years ago, listening in to a conversation, over here we had a site that was the main American base, Burtonwood, it was simply huge, thousands of aircraft, tanks, funs, trucks jeeps, you name it, it was there, the conversation was from a former bulldozer driver, who described how he and others had dug a HUGE pit, all the above where driven in there, crated harlys, crated new engines, all and everything, then, simply covered up, if its trueand he was adamant, then there is a great treasure lying there, how many more can there be???

They buried a number of P 61s in Britian after the war, no telling what else is in the ground there.

Depends, if the plane was packed in cosmolene, it may be salvageable.  They are pulling planes out of Lake Michigan that are in pretty good shape, most can be restored.

Even if they only get 2 or 3 good ones out of this it's still a win win situation, hell I'd even go as far to say if they did find them and recover the crates it's a win...

It will be great if they can salvage a few of them, maybe someone will make some new Fighter plane movies with them someday

As long as its freshwater in the crates they should be able to recover and restore a good but of them. If its salt water, all bets are off
