12ZAP 2 Ail 2 FLP with 7 channel receiver
Hello
I am planning to get a 2 ail 2 flp glider (no EP)
In the radio's manual it calls to work with a 8 channel receiver as the flp2 is moduled through channel 8.
Although I can assign the channels I don't wanmt to lose the built-in functionalities.
I have a 7 channel receiver and I was wondering I can use it for the 2 ail 2 flp, maybe by assigning a always-on mix from channel 5 to channel 8, would that be possible? all mixes will work on? (ail-flp, butterfly, etc)
I just don't want to buy a 8 channel receiver for this when I have a spare 7 lying in my workshop.
Regards

There's really no need for any mixing. Just rename channel-6 to "FLAP" and channel-7 to "FLAP2". Now, whatever control you want to use to handle the flaps will do the job. Generally, though, set the control of the flaps to "NULL", and use the Camber Mix. This will also allow you to have the ailerons work with the flaps, if you wish, as well as allow you to dial-in elevator compensation. Camber is a very powerful function and not always understood.
Remember, the transmitter's programming is FUNCTION based and not channel based. That means that something that is intended to work with FLAPS will work with any channel assigned to the function "FLAPS". You can make channels 1 and 2 be FLAP and FLAP2, channels 3 and 4 be Aileron and Aileron2, channels 5 and 6 be Elevator and Elevator2, and so forth. They'll still work correctly as long as you have them assigned properly in the Function section of the Linkage Menu.

On a 2AIL 2FLP glider, channel 5 would be your 2nd Aileron. I would be much simpler to go into the Function Menu and change channel 6 to FLP2. This will not cause you to lose any functionallity.
