RE: F100
BVM.
No other F-100 can compete with it. All composite, full flying stab, scale outline, operating wing slats. Scale landing gear, molded panel lines inner door panels.
Two models available...F-100D, F-100F (Two seat tandem)
See it here:

Actually, the FEJ is slightly bigger (but not much) and the Skymaster is the same size as the BVM.
Airworld makes a bigger one (1/5th scale), but its not as scale as the BVM ([link=http://www.team-aeroscale.com/airworldf100.html]http://www.team-aeroscale.com/airworldf100.html[/link])

Not a difficult build at all! True, there are no instructions, but, the BVM is an extremely difficult build, by comparison. I have owned the BVM and currently own the AirWorld. If for no other reason than it's much larger, the AirWorld is a better flyer. More stable, with an excellent turn of speed which appears very scale like. The BVM has leading edge flaps, whereas the AirWorld does not. Neither jet actually needs them.
The only actual building on the AirWorld is installing the intakes and the stab control mechanism. Everything else is very straightforward installation and adjustment. The BVM has afew more scale vents/intakes molded in, but you can fairly easily duplicate them on the AirWorld.
If you want big, the best choice is the AirWorld. If you want easier transport, the BVM wins out. The FEJ is not even in the same class as BVM or AirWorld, for quality of kit and design. (I also own one of them.) But iactually flies well.

RE: F100
BVMs is not a mega build. Skymasters is a smaller scale. You need to compare the the F model as that is what skymasters is. BV's is the only way to go in that size. I've had both. Skymasters is a piece of garbage imo. It does fly very well though but it's half the price of BV's but you get what you pay for for sure.
BVs goes together quickly since its mostly composit. You build the flaps, rudder add the LE slats gear doors etc. The worst part is taking your time on the LE slats and fitting the canopy hatch. It leaves a very small gap and is easily fixed.

Going off of what your original post was, the BVM F100 fits that description the best. It is plenty large unless you just love VERY LARGE models. Having built three and having one in the box under my bench right now it is a very rewarding project. It does take some time on the bench but the end results are more than worth it!!!!! And as for true to scale it has no equal IMO

thanks

I'm totally biased, but the BVM F100 is my absolute favorite airplane.
The airworld is pretty impressive in size, but it looks fat to me. And I don't like the floaty looks of it in the air either. It does present really well though given its size, it is just a matter of preference
The F100 has to look heavy metal in the air, and the BVM fits that.
Another plus for the BVM is that you will not find an unsatisfied BVM F100 owner. All of us who have one (or more ) absolutely love them. It is almost like a cult following
But... look at my signature, I'm biased, so take it for what is worth

I totally agree with JackD and KellyR about BVM'S F-100 as it is a little bit of a build but it is not that bad. I own two of them at the moment and i love the way they fly and the presence of it in the air. I haven't seen the skymaster or airworld in person at any events that i have attended so i can't comment on there flight characterists at all. Which in my eye's that kind of tells you something about which one is my choice and that would have to be BVM for sure.

RE: F100
To second (third?) what others said above, the build on the BVM F-100 is not that bad - as far as kits are concerned. On the other hand, you can put *lots* of hours in it going to the nth degree on scale details. I agree that if you do that, you will be rewarded with the *most* scale F-100 out there, bar none. I have had the privilege of building a BVM F-100F for someone else, and I would build one for myself if I could afford it. Someday when I get finished supporting the University of Michigan via tuition payments, I may be able to...
I also agree that, having spent a lot of time looking at F-100 pictures, something looks off in the Airworld kit...

RE: F100
To add my opinion, the BVM Hun is undoubtable the “nicest” F-100 model currently available. The quality of the undercarriage alone puts it well above the competition.
I am currently ½ way through building my BVM “D” version and have not found it too arduous. Yes you will need to hinge flying surfaces, install formers, paint or otherwise finish the project. (These used to be tasks required to complete any model.) But it is certainly within the skills of any averagely competent builder.
According to reports I’ve heard, the BVM F-100 is the best flying model jet available. Sport or scale.

I don't know about "best flying model jet available", but it is fun and surprisingly easy to land. I have about 8 flights on mine and I like it more every time I fly it.

Here you go .... You want true scale ...
Better than BVM ...
This is the F-100 to buy ...
Wingspan: 39' (12 m)
Length: 50' (15 m)
Made by North American Aviation
The United States Air Force and the Air National Guard may have a few left.

Guess that goes to show they have the best F100 in the market!
