AYM CAN50R CANISTER MUFFLER
I posted this in another forum but did not get and answer. I am in need of a Quiet canister muffler for a DLE 55. I emailed Chief and they recomended the AYM CAN50 R Canister Muffler. Has anybody had any experience with this canister muffler? I was told it was the quietest one they had.
Any help would be appreciated !

How quiet does it need to be? I would trust Hatori cannisters only, from Japan......
Any hard mounted engine will generate lots of vibrational noise through the airframe. A soft mount such as a Hyde will help by providing a lot of isolation of the engine. Should also soft mount the can.
Consider using a 3 bladed prop such as a Mezjlik 20x12.
If yours has room for a pipe, none are quieter than the ESComposites 55G carbon composite pipe. Super lightweight too!
My DLE55 is soft mounted (own design mount), piped and turning the Mezjlik 21x12 3 blade (modified 20x12). Extremely quiet set-up, 94dB at 10 feet and nearly electric like quiet in the air. But maybe yours doesn't need that level of quietness. The pipe/header and soft mount will set you back more than the engine did so beware.....
Point is medium sized gas engines don't have to sound like chain saws....
