This will have quite a bit more power than the gas 10cc, but I'd guess the gasser will pull the Sabre around fairly well. I will let you know as soon as I fly it. I might just have to break down and put my skis on it. I am going to fuel it up and run it for awhile today to get the needles set. I live at such high altitude I am guessing its going to be rich on both. I didn't have any trouble with balance at all. The engine is mounted basically in the center of the rails so it could be moved about an inch in either direction with out problems. The leads on the ignition module are long enough I was able to mount it just ahead of the CG inside the wing to keep things clean looking. The tank is an 8 ounce.

OK I'm new to the gasser. Mine just shipped today and I am putting it in a Tiger 2 that has sat in the box on my bench for a year. Hope to have it built in a couple months. I have a hectic schedule with 4 boys and a rotating shift job.

I have had 10 flights also.Ive got mine in a wot 4 for running in purposes.It weights 5.5lbs and will just pull out of a prop hang very slowly.Im using the 12x6 prop and getting 10700rpm on the ground and am on the rich side.
The engine pulls the plane very well in the vertical climb but is not unlimited but gets to at least 400m height without slowing.
Id really like to find a 3d plane to put it in.im not a huge fan of funfly models (mainly because i like to mix fast scale aerobatics with some light 3d )i think that funfly models are probarly the best option if you want a 3d capable model.
Got say im impressed with the engine so far and it may find its way into a warbird

testing on ground give me 12450rpm with apc 12x4 Tried it in the air today and it was plenty of power. had 2 deadstick becouse of the pressure tube fell off the niple on the muffler. have to use some strips to fasten it. changed to apc 12x8 today and got 9300rpm. I have only 3 tanks of gas tru it yet. So i think this is a great little engine. HAve little video her from testing on the ground with the 12x4 prop

It fit the mounting bolt pattern OK, but I saw at least 1700-1800 RPM decrease over the stock muffler. The most I got out of it was barely 9000-9100 RPMs, but after about 2 minutes, the RPMs suddenly decreased to a “surging†7600-7800. No amount of needle adjustments brought it back up and I even took off the muffler and remounted it two times just to be sure it was on correctly. Same results each time of upper 7K RPMs. So, in reality, I saw about 2800 RPM decrease from the stock muffler. This was just a gee whiz experiment with a muffler I had on hand. I hope another after market muffler designed for this engine will do better. You got to give the R&D guys credit, they designed the stock muffler for optimum performance.

You'll love the Evo! I don't have a lot of experience with Pitts mufflers, but I do have on on my DLE 20 and it works fine. I use it because of the cowl on my P40, rather than for performance considerations. There are others that can chime in on their experiences with them, though. I'd break in the Evo 10 with the stock muffler and stay on tip of checking the muffler screws and bolt. They loosen up quite a bit the first few tank fulls but stay tight after that.

Lot of the guys at my field don't like evolution,but i have one evo trainer engine i bought used and its probably the best running engine i have got in my fleet.Very smooth transition from low rpm to max and really strong.I think the guys at the field had experience with the first engines from them.I think i will be happy with the engine.Just take it to the field and let them see how well they run..thanks

tuned pipes are not black magic - but they do take up a lot of space -
tuned mufflers ?
good luck- the smaller the chambers and the shorter the overall length- the fussier the setup becomes AND typically- the faster the engine must turn.
there are no magic setups . some sellers try to pawn off short "tuned" muffers on the uninformed public- Never saw ONE which was worth having

i'm leaning toward the hanger 9 katana 50.i think that will be a good combo..i have a stinger ii with os 46fx. i want to leave it like it is..have to save my money to get t he arf..

yea,
those 4stroke saito 82 are hard to beat far 3d flying..lot of torque at low rpm and pull large props with no problems..its good to see one of the main engine companies jump in head first to see if they can get others to follow on this gas engine,weight is always been the problem ..give them some time,i'm sure they will figure it out...

Horizon has the h9 p-40 50 on sale for $99 I think i'm going to get one and drop the 10cc in with the bison muffler. what do you think? also has anyone used a 3 bladed prop yet? if so what size and how did it preform?
