Not RC, but a kit with a lot of potential. Still in CAD, so it may be a while, but lets hope it sees the light of day.
I wish more guys would just release RC ready kits. Leave all the sound and mechanics to us.

Oh, well yeah... but neither were the early T34's from Trumpeter. And we all made them RC by using the WSN.
Yup, fingers crossed but now it looks more than just an announcement!

It's about time! Many years ago, one of the RCU forum members - "kclank" - got the jump on Trumpeter and built this little beauty. It's a Russian SU 85, but it looks like the only difference between it and the SU 100 is the main gun mount and mantle. Correct me if I am wrong on that.
I'm thinking that maybe I could make a SU 100 conversion that would be interchangeable with the SU 85 gun. But why? I gotta think about that some more, if/when the Trumpeter model comes out and if that would be worth the trouble, or just get a Trumpeter (if it is affordable).
I like the weathering that kclank did on this thing...........

if you wanted you could just swap the casement (or fighting compartment) including gun & mantlet. I know of no specific detail on the rest of the lower hull that could not be explained by field mods. or different factory assembly. Oh and the tracks have to be upgraded. t-34 style tracks were not to be found when i did that. Wow Rex do you realize i built that back in 1998-1999 time period, before Tamiya electronics? Have fun with what ever mods you do or don't do.

1998 - 1999? Golly mister kclank, you must be one of those olde timers who used those war surplus R/C sets with the vacuum tubes back then. Us kids got it real easy now. Yeah, the track is the rubber band type that was on the lower half of the R/C tank that you used ......... the M1 Abrams that was built by Chicago Model International of Taiwan. It still works like it always did....at warp speed. It's fun to watch an SU 85 burn rubber and pop a wheelie. I think I will leave your tank as you built it.

That was Chicago's model of a South Korean K1 (no joke, look it up) http://www.army-technology.com/projects/k1/, A 6 road wheel look alike to the American 7 road wheel M1.

Picky, picky, picky..........OK... I looked it up. You are right about the road wheels, but the glacis is more like the M1A1 than the K1A1. The K1A1 was a design development of the M1 that was better suited to the Korean terrain, according to what I'm finding out. I never knew the K1A1 ever existed until now. My Chicago International model is an imposter! It was also distributed by Megatech. Don't ask me why I bought two of those rat dogs.
And now..........back to our previous programming about the Russian SU 100.

This particular tank has been in CAD stage for a long time. Certainly more than 2 years at least and probably longer. I would not hold your breath I don't believe their 1/16 range did very well, despite it being well done.
