Ron moved away from Arizona and the kit was sold.

I've been wondering what happened also.
I plan to go electric too with this 50cc size motor
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbycity/s...ner_Motor.html
There is also an 80 cc size but, that might be overkill.
Your thoughts please.

now i have a question if anyone is up on it. the side view on the plans shows a abs cowl 9" long. the kit has a glass cowl 10 1/2 in long.how is it mounted? is the nose really 1 1/2" longer than the plans?

An electric 1/3 Cub sounds like a really good idea.  I have two 1/4 Cubs, both electric, and a 1/5th scale Cub, also electric.

well, saved the main airframe from sandy, but the saltwater got all the alum and clear plastic[washed off] plans and book are a soggy mess and some small fittings and balsa pieces are out to sea.

Guy's I apologize for not letting you know what was happening. Three months ago I took a new position at a Church in Springfield MO. At the time of the move I was concerned that I would not have the shop space for a 1/3 build. Turns out that I have a larger garage, but not much time for building right now. Thanks for all the help. I miss seeing all the guy's at the Arizona club. Especially Denis and Phil. I wouldnt have attempted the mods without thier help.

The Cub project sold in just a couple days to a Southwest Airlines Pilot that lives in the West Valley. Perhaps he will post a pic someday of the fished product.

Just like any cub, advance the throttle slowly, get air over the rudder, then you have it made.

Hello all,
I just bought a 1/3 scale super cub all ready built and has three flight on it. It has futaba S3010 servos threw out. I’m not to familiar with futaba servos and was wondering if they are OK or should I replace them with??. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Dan, Futaba makes the best servos. I use them in my 50cc models that weigh 20 pounds plus. You do not have to replace the ones you have in that great CUb you have. Dan.

Dan: I have been flying Futaba for 30 years, However those 3010 are in my opinion Cheap and sloppy. (Ya get what ya pay for) at one time I used 3010s for all my large scale aircraft, untill I got aileron flutter on one of them. After checking I discovered I could move all the control surfaces by hand about 1/8 " (sloppy)

I have since replaced them all with "HiTec HS645 MG . They are about $10.00 more but a much better servo

Thanks guys for your thoughts on the 3010 I use Hitec 645 in all my other planes so I think I will change them out. Hate to spend another two hundred bucks but better to be safe.

You know Dan on another note: I never chucked those 3010s, and over the last 2 years have found a good place for all of them. Like Throttle: Landing gear: all those Non control surface areas.

Wow, very nice. Looks like the time spent paid off well. Don't need to ask how she flys, as most are real sweethearts. Good job...

thanks. fly's real smooth. the 65cc electric is way overpowered. i only use 1/4 throttle. but i want the extra for sailplane towing.i even pulled a few loops for fun.
