I was in two minds if I should upload this as I wasn't that enamoured with the footage. The cockpit needs more work to give it that real edge, I'll make proper canopy frames etc... to enhance it. Viewing it in 720p helps, my next effort will be much improved.

Thanks guys, the GoPro mount goes on the centre pylon, I used an M3 bolt through the standard mount this then fits onto the centre pylon like the bomb using a keyhole push fit with a small anti rotation pin.

Yes please! pics.
I have a new smoke tank mount via the center line pylon on my A4. I was looking at how to install my trusty old Go Pro last week as a "camera kit" in place of the smoke tank, and then saw your mount from afar. Would love to see how you aligned everything. I've also modded my smoke tank to house one Go Pro facing aft but at some point the whole mess just becomes too heavy, I think on mine I have to do one or the other at a time, mine is just a little Tam A-4.

RE: A4 Skyhawk build
Great - using the adapter, did you find there was some very small amount of wabble in side to side play using the base? It won't so obvious physically, but it may show up in the raw video before de-shaker filters are applied. When I use these as helmet cams in skiing I found I had better video and shots when I placed a single layer of aluminum tape on the base fitting - this is to shim the fitting between the camera base and the mounted base for a tighter fit. Go Pro may have fixed the bases and they may fit much tighter now on the newer ones, not sure. If you get wobble and jello in your video you might be able to reduce that effect with the tape shim trick.

Hi Ed, it seemed to work well as standard, its a very tight fit into the adapter. Its a new GoPro 3 edition so they may have improved it.

Sadly due to an error on my part the A4 looks like this now Trying to get it airborne on grass, it didn't unstick and when it did rolled in. Learnt loads from it and having never had an accident since starting jets over 10 years ago I suppose my time had come.

RE: A4 Skyhawk build
OMG I'm so sorry.
I know what you mean about airplane loss - I hadn't had a crash in 13 years and badly damaged one of my big prop warbirds a few months ago due to pilot error - I clipped a barrier at the end of a runway with my wing tip on a low strafing pass. Completely my fault.
Your A-4 was the nicest and most unique example I'd seen of it's kind and size. The effort was stunning and really showcased some history in the type along side of your talents. Even though what happened has happened, your efforts are still very worthy of appreciation by those of us who appreciate these things!

Thanks guys...
If it wasn't for all the nice comments and messages on my Facebook page I'd have probably already binned it. Bizarrely I really enjoyed piecing it all back together today! I'm still not convinced it can be saved and if it can I'm going to do something completely different with it as it would never be the same trying to replicate how it was. I'm in the process of ordering another pre painted Argentinean A4 from SM so hopefully I can improve on my last rendition. The repaired airframe will be used as a bit of a test bed and I fancy doing it in an Indonesian scheme. I'm hassling Ali to buy one of his models in the mean time but I cant have it till after Jetpower so I'm Jetless until then
I'm hoping to get it to the talented Phil Noel at Pinnacle Aviation to see if he can repair the damage, there's certainly no one better qualified to give it a go.
