Here's my LT40 float plane built from a kit with some modifications (dual aileron servos, bolt on wing, tail dragger set up). It is covered with ultra cote and has an 0s 55 AX. Below is a link to some action on the River last Memorial Day. Can't wait to take it out of winter hibernation and get going again this spring.

Cheers..Hutch

Kadet MKII in 1983 when I was 13 years old. OS .35 for power. Couple of Seniors since then and an LT 40 my daughter assembled when she was about 12. Still using it as a club trainer. I'd like to build another MKII for old times sake.

Absolutely gorgeous LT40 Hutch. I'm wondering, how did you cover the fuse? Did you do the trans red in the cut outs first? And how did you do the white? Did you pre-cut the knock out areas before ironing down?

Count me in also.  Built my first MK II back in about 1980.  Sold it when I got out of the hobby and got it back from the same fellow 25 years later.  Still have it and have built 4 more since then.  Great plane.

Thank you.. For the Fuse Pattern I traced the pre cut knock out areas on each fuse side (and top) onto a paper pattern. Next I applied the red transperent covering just on the areas of the fuse with the knock outs. Then I took the paper patterns that were traced laid them over a section of white covering, cut out the knock outs, then laid them on accordingly. It took some time but it kept me busy last winter.....

Hey the water looks fine. I think I will also jump in. Splash

I presently have 2 Kadets.
A Kadet SR and a Jr. My third junior I think.

The SR was a kit build when I got back from Desert Storm. The Jr is a scratch build and then rebuild from a set of original plan from the first 2 Jrs. The rebuild came about after trying to force it off of grass resulting in a tip stall that left me with a completely trashes fuse. OS .25 powered.

The SR uses a rather worn out Saito .65.

Dihedral on both was reduce by 1/2.

Thanks Hutch. I might do the same thing with mine except in green. I have been on sort of a green kick lately. Not many folks use green and I thinks it's a little different.

Got some new members yall... Welcome to the Kadet brotherhood. [8D]

My kadet senior with the twins hank and jude, the thrust line and control surface angles are not modified. I think I added 18 lbs. of weight. I flew it before with an O.S. 60...I have set this up for a 90 just to make sure it gets off the ground. Gonna train my grand kids on Mad Max

I realized I never posted a finished picture of my Senior with a sort of twisted history,
I do have a fuse shot from the build once covered ...

Here is the story on my Senior, the wing is from an airplane built by a father and son 20 years ago, it was silkspan and dope.. The plane was flown until it needed lots of work, then donated to the club. it flew as a trainer until the wing fell off in flight ! I ended up with the wing after the crash.. it survived mostly but had broken wing tips.

A different friend had given me 2 broken senior arf wings, one had good wing tips only... So I put them on the kit built wing !

Someone else gave me a fuse kit a couple years later, so I used that and a bit of 1/8th birch ply i had laying around to build a big bomb bay in the airplane.

Another friend had a yak 54 that he crashed, and the tail was on the wall in his basement, I said wow that would look good if I cut it down..on my senior.. He said take it, I did

I bent my own landing gear wire to resemble an old timer, and made the plane a tail dragger.

Another friend quit the hobby and gave me a bunch of fabric covering, so thats where the skin came from.

The wheels I believe were discards from an arf kit.

Custom bilt the cowl for an electric motor, that swings a 16-8 prop.

Taught myself to fly on a Seniorita so you had better sign me up

Ok, mine is still in the box, its a 1976 kit, just picked it up at a resale shop about a month ago, its destined for floats when it gets to my board. Probably over the summer......should be a quick build.

I will take a number......Thanks!

Please add me. I have an LT-40, a Kadet Sr (with ailerons added) and a highly modified Kadet Seniorita. In a year or so I hope to build a Kadet Sr. with the wing on the bottom.

Some pics of my last LT40 that I unfortunately never finished. I was moving and had to thin the heard, so I gave it to a friend. I took out most of the dihedral, converted it to a bolt down wing and a taildragger. I got some of the covering done. Solartex antique.
