Default dl50

i have been flying for over 3 years, all glow. i have recently bought a TF GIANT P-51 arf and a dl50. the motor is used, but only 1 gl of fuel and it looks new. this is my first gasser. i looked all thru the forum and did not find any general info about the motor. could any of you give me some info, such as who makes it. reliability. any known irregularities. i paid 200 for the motor.

A lot of people as I remember were not too happy with them. If I recall they were one of the first clone engines from China that suffered a lot of quality control issues.

If this motor hasn't been abused, then you should have one of the best and most reliable 50cc motors there is. I have one of them for five or six years without not a single problem. Still running strong.

The DL engines often had issues with the bearing cages on the rod to crank and piston wrist pins. In order to get the most from your 50 I would suggest using a good oil mixed at 32:1 or 4 four ounces of oil per gallon of gas. Some of these engines are still performing well. Good luck.
