1:16 Tamiya Gepard Flakpanzer (15kg, customized relistic effects)
Hi,
This tank is weighted 15kg, almost 90% is made with Steel and Metal. Eqipped with dual bruless motors, gyro lock on tank's turret with 360 degree rotation, customized speed dependentsound, relistic lighting effects (in fact, it called "flickering" effect). All are made from home by myself starting from design all the way to implementation...it took me almost a year to build this and now it is completed. I'm very courious how others are making their Gepard? please share with me more in this post...thanks everyone!

Thanks Rebellion13. It is really great to join this forum and Ido look forward to hearing more feedback from you guys. Everything in this tank is customized...including main gear box, computerized system etc. Most importantly, it is a almost fully metal tank!

I love the GEP. Would be cool to get realistic gun recoil cycling with little puffs of smoke. LOL
spitting out used shell casings would be a really impressive site too. LOL

I absolutely love what you have done with it! Could you share how you setup the gyro-lock, revolving turret (how many wires does it have), servo systems, etc? I know it's a lot to ask, but I love the engineering part of this hobby. I'm just finishing a 18 pound KT and with what I've learned (first tank), I'm very excited to take my next build to the next level. I'm just starting work on an OSD system that will inject a gunner reticle into a video feed and back to the FPV monitor system. This has the potential to really change the game!
Here's a picture of my hull which has an interior aluminum frame, custom smoker, twin 5000 mah battery packs, etc and my current setup for a FPV monitor system that I'm going to be using.
THanks,
tjs

That looks & sounds awesome!
I would like to see it opened up to get a look at all the internals & how everything fits in the turret & hull.
It would be cool to see any build pictures you have of your custom work & from putting it all together too.
