Does anyone know if Traxxas Velineon ESC. will handle 550 size brushless motors? Im putting this speedo in my sc10 4x4 with the traxxas motor, but if that motor isnt fast enough I would like to try a 550 size motor.

I've seen it done before. Traxxas' website says there is no motor limit. Even then, I'd watch the temperatures.

I have the Velineon system, it came with a 550 3500KV motor right out of the box.

Although not all 550 cans are equal in size, they are usually pretty long. Look at Novak Ballistics and Tekin SC4X motors. I'm staring at 2 Velineon 3500 motors right now as well as a Trinity 15.5T 540 and the Velineon is barely longer because of the black endbell cover. I still consider the Traxxas motor a 540.

Thanks guys, Im wondering how fast the SC10 4x4 will be with the traxxas velineon system.Traxxas uses it in there 4x4 slash and it moves pretty quick.I still have to build my SC10 4x4 so i got some time to think about it.I have the velineon in my 2wd sct and its plenty fast enough,that is why im considering it for the 4wd.
