WARBIRDS OVER LAS VEGAS APRIL 4-6, 2013
LAS VEGAS RADIO CONTROL CLUB (LVRC) is very pleased to announce the new WARBIRDS OVER LAS VEGAS event to be held on April 4-6, 2013 at the William Bennett memorial RC field adjacent to the Sam Boyd UNLV stadium. Here is our flyer and a few pictures to introduce the event.
This thread is for general communications and questions and group communications. I will get answers to your posted questions and any other FAQs and post them here.
LVRC has a team that has been working on this event dince last October, 2012 led by Bill Hope. Eric Henderson is a Warbirds over Las Vegas committee member.

This is the field layout these days don't know anything about a chain link fence around the whole fleld. We have a permanent safety fence to separate the spectator area from the pits. We will also have safety barriers for the pilots on the flight lines
If you look at the web site above, the large grass areas either side of the pre-flight staging areas are for the entrants and their easy-ups, etc.

I went and looked at the pictures on the web site. In the 2012 sets, I can still see the wooden fence posts and the chain strung between them that goes all around the field. I think it is there to keep the 4 wheelers offf the field. But could it be taken down for events? I have hit it before and there are may youtube videos showing planes hitting it. I know the object is to NOT hit the chain, but that's life. I do not think the chain will keeep flyers away, its just someting I always dreaded about flying there. I still wish I could make it to your fly-in. It sounds like its going to be a lot of fun. Jeff
