Fuel coming out of stinger???

Fuel coming out of stinger???
I won't name names, but there is a certain member on this forum whose rx died at the track, and he came home and hung up his car without emptying his fuel tank.
His mechanic (me) decided to go through it and get it ready for the track this weekend. I noticed as I turned the buggy, fuel flowed from the pipe stinger.
This is a first for me....as I've ALWAYS emptied my tank, and even with fuel in the tank I've not seen it ever come out through the stinger like this.
Consequently, I'm a little concerned as to what would cause fuel to come out of the stinger like it did.Everything checks out fine. Are there any action items I need to take to ensure this member's engine is not affected? I know ARO is a controversial topic here (I put it in after EVERY run), and am 100% confident this person did not. Although I don't think 5 days with half a tank would cause any rust....thoughts on what is causing it to come out of the stinger?
Thanks!

RE: Fuel coming out of stinger???
If the tank has plenty of fuel in it and the car is "hung up" (presumably on the wall and it is a buggy/truggy?) the fuel will drain due to gravity if the fuel is covering the pick up point. If fuel was coming out of the stinger when you turned it upright, then I do not think rust would be a problem.
I keep my cars horizontal and always drain tanks...and oil after use.

RE: Fuel coming out of stinger???
pull the plug, turn the engine over. it should start rught up. if the muffler is full of fuel it will spit ot for a while. you can turn the buggy on its side with the muffler down to clear most if it out. ive done this before. i wqas racing and it started raining and put up everythiong to quick. and guess what it rained for 2 days before i unloaded my truck fuel filled up in the muffler.

RE: Fuel coming out of stinger???
Sounds to me like the motor was not emptied when he finished running and when I have fuel come out the stinger it means the motor was either flooded or running to rich
