JMA SHAWBURY - MARCH 17 2013
Thanks to the Frank Fletcher and the RAFMAA/ Shawbury club, a jet meeting will take place at RAF Shawbury on Sunday March 17. All those wishing to attend are to book in with the JMA secretary Roger Kilbey prior to the event as NO BOOKING = NO ENTRY. Please contact Roger at [email protected]. You will be required to give your full name, make, model, registration and colour of your car, which will be submitted to the RAF police/MPGS for clearance. The cut off date for entries is Sunday March 3.
PLEASE NOTE THAT OFFICIAL PHOTOGRAPHIC IDENTIFICATION SUCH AS A DRIVING LICENCE OR PASSPORT MUST BE PRODUCED ON ENTRY TO SHAWBURY, YOU WILL BE DENIED ENTRY IF YOU ARE NOT IN POSSESSION OF SUCH DOCUMENTS.
Last year was well attended and we enjoyed excellent weather, let us hope we have the same this year!

Ian,
No this is not the AGM meeting. The AGM will be held at the first Long Marston meet on March 30/31. Details of the format will be released when a couple of issues have been sorted.

Jamie, is it a jma meeting, I let my membership slip last year. I am however an ex member of the RAFMAA going back to 1959. Ron.

Its a JMA meeting, rather than a RAFMAA event. Each person is making a donation to attend

Dave, does it mean that I can't register. I was under the impression that all ex RAFMAA members were welcome to any RAF station event regardless of any other affiliation. I am happy as in the past to make whatever contribution is required.
Gordon, I am already registered with R/C groups. Ron.........RAF Butsweilerhoff. 1959 TO 1961 at the time the only modeler on the base. ( Bob Palmer thunderbird and George Aldrich Nobler. I think??

I don't know how the RAFMAA work, Generally you need to be a JMA member to fly at our meetings, where ever we hold it. Speak with Jamie or Dick

RE: JMA SHAWBURY - MARCH 17 2013
I have been preparing for the last few days. Loaded the car and checked everything after flying this morning. One last job, fuel up the car. On the way home it sputtered to a halt.
I have been driving diesel cars since 1959 and guess what? I put £80 quids worth of petrol in the tank. Wife to the rescue....''never mind love take mine even though it is my birthday tomorrow''. What a girl! No I don't get out much anymore but I am really looking forward to tomorrow regardless of the weather. Ron.

Super day. We traveled through snow and slush but the weather at Shawbury was incredible. Practically no wind, mild and invariably bright. Some incredible models, I had a very enjoyable day. Ron.

Yep, you definitely missed a cracking day, must have been one of the sunniest places in the country.
Good to get the Intro in the air again..
A couple of major disasters for two models though unfortunately.
