Default Model Builder Magazine Volume 1 Sep and Oct 71

Found these old Model Builder Magazines again while cleaning out storage. I have Volumes 1 thru 33, missing 14, 24 and 25 in almost mint condition. I lived in Eureka, CA at the time. An old german WW2 pilot gave them to me. His name was Werner Seitz, and he lived in Garberville at the time. He visited our Club Field one day out of the blue. We had an old P-38 mechanice named Ed Wooley in our club, the Eureka R/C Club. they had an interesting conversation. Mr Seitz was one of the rare pilot survivors or WW2, and was involved in the Mistel project, an intersting Bomber controled by a fighter that was mounted above it. See picture. Just some history. Got the picture from wikipedia, thought I had better give them credit.

It was a sorry day when Model Builder stopped publishing. IMHO, one of the best modeling magazines ever produced. Sorry I did not keep all my copies. You got a gold mine of information if you are a scratch builder.

Rodney, thanks for the kind - true - words re MB Magazine. You may know that Bill Northrop, MB editor, passed away a few months ago.
Thankfully, some of us are still around, yours truly, Taylor Collins now editor of High flight, the IMAA magazine, and a Bill who is in
the graphics dept. at Hobby People.
MB plans are still available from Bill's wife, ad in Flying Models Magazine. There is also a DVD for sale which includes all ussues, ad
in Model Aviation. I am currently building a Dragonfly from MB plans. And yes, I have ALL the issues. Eloy Marez

Hi Everyone;

Very interesting post from Mr Presley above, and per Eloy above, I too have every single issue of MB, luv dem dearly, and refer to them often. MA is OK, but not like the mags of old.

However, please note that FLYING MODELS magazine is still being published, and for an old timer like me, who grew up flying FF, CL, and later as an adult finally got into RC, FM is still the fine old stalwart of a magazine it always was, still covering and publishing designs for FF, CL, and RC, and you know what, explains the newer ELECTRIC stuff in a manner that I can almost understand; [like it is hard to teach an 'Old Mutt' new tricks]. FLYING MODELS Magazine is a true treasure indeed. Will close for now, best regards from a rainy and cool Glendale, Arizona,

Joe Nagy.
