OK guys all goes well hope to get this in the air this weekend, with all I have built only flown the "top wingers" 10 thru 53 diesels of course, should be interesting
As you know designed for a 400 geared electric did my usual mods and beef-ups and went to a dural main gear the light wire one gone and steerable tail wheel. TT10 Davis head 9x4 zinger wood
engine is a easy hand flip start 3 to 5 max and off running 2oz tank martin
wingspan 39 inchs
Oh my a few Diesel spots on the counter
a proof read good idea also had TT70 head on post of course its a TT10

Rats- too gusty to risk a flight maybe it will calm down a little later today new plane do not want to take any chances , my apache ll with the Irvine 53 could have cared less big lots of power easy to handle in adverse wind conditions martin
the tiger is pretty light for this wind issue

I'm anxious to hear how this thing flys! I bought one at the LHS this fall, and was worried about the airframe being up to an I/C engine, so I put a Park 400 outrunner in, with lipo battery. I had a Tiger 2 with a PAW .40 on it, but crashed it pretty hard and wrote it off. Now I'm finishing off a Tiger 60 with an OS 61FX. Love those Tigers!

Airframe beefed up 1/16 and 1/8 ply inside triangle stock at joints that extra oz or so no issue with the TT10 up frontmartin

Ooops, that's an hefty 58% weight increase...
I've converted a Super Chipmunk (400 ARF too) to glow and it lost weight in the process (compared to the recommended weight, I don't have any electric stuff myself). But then I used a Norvel .074 engine and it has plenty of power for about the same wing area as your's (242 inch^2). The electric 400 engine is more like a 1cc engine in terms of power I think, so an MP Jet .061 might have been better suited?

thats about 3 1/2 0z increase but also a .10 engine maybe 9x4 or 9 x5 prop, do not think it will be an issue will also check scale with a calibrated weight to make sure no wt error
martin
some of the weight from the dural aluminum landing gear was a very lightweight wire gear stock and engine of course
also an MPjet 061 is 94Gm the TT10 with muffler 164 thats a bit more than 2oz
