It was just a joke, NASCAR is the racing people love to hate, otherwise it wouldn't even be Simpsons material. No disrespect was intended, as mentioned in following posts. My apologies for any misunderstanding, but really I think NASCAR guys probably have a good sense of humour about it themselves, they only turn left for pete's sake, there's just too much material not to make jokes, as long as it's all in good fun, no harm no foul.

They can't have NASCAR for r/c because then there would be a big wreck and fans in the stands would get injured and lawsuits would be rampant. It would just be a big lawyer mess

Im surprized it took this long before that joke got made

You dont mess with a nascar fan tho. they are some of the most passionate fans ever. I will never understand the draw of watching fast cars go around in a circle and using "pitstop" stratagy to win a race, but for some its the best thing since sliced bread.

I bet those 20 something people hit Saturday by flying debris don't think Nascar racing is a joke!  For all those that think 200 mph racing is a farce, let's see you catch a 30lb rim and tire at 200 mph.

You don't need to think something is a joke to make jokes about it. Two very different things.

I bet it weighed alot more than that, and it was probably hot too.

I would race in "nascar" style rc racing. If anyone in my area did it but I dont think anyone around here does so.. When you really think about it you dont have to have banked turns for it.

Ive race pan car oval short and hi speed banked. it is very specialized requiring a special chassis for short track or hi speed banked oval. It is probably too specialized to appeal to many beginners. and even me; ) I enjoyed the hi speed banked over but you can destroy a complete car due to highspeeds.carbon fiber explodes when it hits a fence post at 50 mph plus; O

I think that a spec class of very NASCAR replica racers would be a hit, with livery for all the different teams. This realistic approach has already shown successwith the Traxxas Slash Spec Classracing. I suggested this tothis toTraxxas, the chassis could be a 1/10 version of their XO1 car with an SS, Fusion and Camre bodies. small ovals can be set up at most NASCAR events. with demo renta rides for newbs to try their hand at it. But it is their dollar so...

I highly detailed 1/10th version of the new SS with Juniors livery would be appealing to me. I would want one for a shelf queen. Now that NASCAR owns ALMS series the sky is the limit for oval or road racing. Hopefully there won't be any more Kyle Bush replicas. once is enough; P haha just kidding.

Not an RC car guy, but I do watch NASCAR, and they do race NASCAR on road tracks. They have been doing that since at least the 60's. Also not all NASCAR ovals are banked. I would think 42 cars on an oval of any kind would be exciting.

Yep, I'm a NASCAR fan (not a redneck, though) and I wasn't the least bit offended.

You have to admit, those new Generation 6 cars are a huge improvement!

I'm well known for offending others by seemingly doing no more then looking at someone cross eyed.

nascar on road tracks (to me) is totally different and worth watching.
but for me SCCA or Short Course truck racing is better.

NASCAR is for Hillbillies. And the hardest part of their education was passing the 3rd grade.

Why is that? A moderator can't be a member as well and make jokes and off color posts occasionally? It's not enough that I give up hours of my time to moderate for absolutely zero reward (except the disdain of people who obviously feel I owe them my time to moderate the community), I can't have a laugh and joke with my fellow members?

Thanks, thanks a lot guys.

Sense of humour fail up in here. Did you guys not even see the winking smiley?

Lol, thanks guys I appreciate it, its not about appreciation, its that folks forget that we want to be members too, and expect us to behave in a certain way. I've never been able to confirm to anyone's expectations in that regard.

Anyway that other post came off a bit emo didn't it...sorry plane dude, wasn't personal.

Let's get back on topic or I'll have to clean all this up.
