Default Walked into my LHS, asked for Marine Nitro...

Guy looks at me goofy "You should be using that there Car fuel unless youre doing something different."

I turned around and walked out.

Now where can I find some marine Nitro? That was about our only LHS I know of.

You can request your LHS to order some Grim Racer 50% fuel from Great Planes Distributors.

The comment "You should be using that there Car fuel unless youre doing something different." tells me the guy in the shop doesn't have a clue about what he's trying to sell. You can always order fuel from Tower though it will be spendy

You were smart enough not to buy car or for that matter, plane fuel as some uneducated LHS owners or employees would try to sucker you into buying whatever they had on their shelves to avoid losing a sale.
With Tower Hobbies/Great Planes you have a choice of saving money a couple of ways. The LHS can sometimes help with the Haz-Mat charges or shipping fees but you pay the sales tax. You can order it directly from Tower if you'd like. No problem with John Otto either if you want a blend made for your boat as he can do it.

You might look at the heli fuel they probably had. It is usually a higher oil content and could be run in the marine engine without issues. Buying fuel online is almost always more expensive.

I used sidewinder mainly 40% nitro 12% oil sometimes 50% /12% NEVER had a fuel related problem running it, O'Donnell I have used but it stained everything yellow lol redmax and a few other brands (some blue crap I wouldnt use to start a fire with once to) always went back to sidewinder, if i go back into running nitro Ill jump right back to sidewinder

My question in all of this is what fuel is good for use in just regular outboard engines? I've run Omega and Cool Power 15% to get things in the water and tested and it's ok. Locally the only fuels available are Morgan's products which I've used for decades in planes and helis and have no complaints. Car fuels such as Traaxas are also available. I'm not prepared just yet to run 50-60% fuels and there is no convenient way to get it, it'll have to be ordered. Can I use something like Traaxas 20% fuel? My concern is oil content. I don't want to damage an engine (I'm running K&B .21 and .40 outboards) just running around the pond. When I get to my first race I'll probably stay with 20% until I get used to running in traffic and rough water. Opinions? Thanks.

Stay away from Traxxas fuel for boats as they don't even recommend it for their own nitro boats.

You can always buy the Low Oil % car fuel and get some KLOTZ Super Technoplate and add some to your fuel, But just like Yota, I have run the Sidewinder Pro Blend Fuel with No Problems. The thing to remember if your running a lower % of oil is Don't run it As Lean, Make SMALL Adjusments not Big ones.
