Default High pitch scream? Motor

What does a pretty high pitch scream coming from a motor mean?

Even when no throttle is being applied?

A fairly constant squeally noise that doesnt vary in pitch and is there all th etime essentially.

What kind of tank and electronics and what brand of motor? Does it do it with the speaker disconnected? Is power going to the motor even with the transmitter off but electronics on? Off the top of my head, sounds like an electronics problem, not a motor problem.

sounds like your throttle trim is a tad out of adjustment..

Its an old Mato motor connected to an old Mato 3:1 box in a scratch bulit tank.

The esc is an RX-18, get the noise even without the speaker.

It starts off OKbut once something like a pivotturn is done....it starts up and wont go away.

Ihave 3 A fuses on each motor lead to the RX-18 so its not drawing to much.

In general that motor/box seems to not reposnd as well as it should for some reason....Ithought it might be related to the noise somehow but I cannot see any pattern.

The noise would kill cockroaches though...... seriously horrible,.

If Iswitch off the transmitter and leave the tank on...noise still there. It aint the fan on the rx-18 either....

Bit freaked out actually...... havent heard anything like it before.

Yeah, agree with DB.

You are probably referring to the feedback noise associated with the motors electrical interference through the electronics & FETs. It's a pretty high pitch whine, & you might hear it all the time because of how you have your radio controller setup on the throttle stick, even though you think you aren't giving any throttle. It only takes a very small amount of variation in the throttle to make the noise, even if it's not enough to move the motors.

You can try fine tune adjusting the trim associated with the throttle stick, in either direction, to see if you can get the whine to stop.

And the ten thousand dollar prize goes to DBand BAAF!

Tweaked teh throttle a little on th esteering of all things and the noise went away!

Hadnt thought of that and was sure it was the motor..... thanks for that!

While youre here......is it normal to see a few sparks inside a motor even if its been broken in before?

The high-pitched scream we usually hear when running our tanks is coming from my wife.

Especially when there are metal tracks on a just dusted wooden floor! Sometimes it is my screams as she picks up the tank to move it off the just polished wooden floor! [X(]

Yeah, but it fishtails so nicely on clean floors. If I have a long enough run, I can swing the StuG around 180.

And I thought cats only did that as they try to make a corner on just cleaned wooden floors. I guess I should run my Tiger I with the sound off next time and tell my wife it was the cat?

Tom you are not alone!!! There are many who suffer our same fate! You would think our wives would at least appreciate the fact we are not out hitting the pub to fill our free time?[X(]
