aframe2, I remember reading a post on the other site that the builder drilled a hole in the back fuselage assembly and poured in a slurry of epoxy and lead shot, while protecting the control cables at the same time. Sorry I can't be more help

Handyman, I read that post. I'm afraid if I put that much weight that far back in
the tail with anything more than a pristine landing it will break off. If it comes to
that that is what I'll do. What about adding even more weight and putting it under
the pilot inside the fuse. That is about as far back in the fuse that has some solid
space to hold the weight. Everything else is just stringers and formers. Aframe2

aframe2 you could add weight under the cockpit, but it will be a lot more weight, probably double. That was my feelings also that without reinforcing the tail it would be subject to failure in a hard landing. In hindsight a DLE 20 would probably fly this plane fine and be less weight in the nose. Have you moved everything to the rear that you could?

Hi Guys, ive got mine balanced at 123mm from the leading edge and it flys really nice,no need to add weight, sub C 4.8 batt behind the fuel tank and a sub C 6v in the rear of the fuz.im using a CRRC GP26r.over 100 flights now and no problems.

Ian, I've read all of your post, but I am using a DLE30, have a 4.8 volt and a 6volt battery under the
cockpit, as far back in the fuse as they will go and my balance is way off. I'm using 123mm balance
point and the plane falls off of the balancer on its nose. I am going to have to add at least 2lbs of
weight in the tail, or there is no way this plane is taking off. I'm just deciding on the best way to add
the weight and I like the lead shot method with expanding foam. Will let you know how it turns out.
I watched your video of your ryan on you toube. Any trouble with the wheels inside the wheel pants,
not much room for any play from side to side. Looks like they may be short lived. Aframe2
