Ditto, Casey!
Lots of good reference material lost over the years with these (suspected) server problems. Maybe we have been spoiled in that it has been as good as it has, all things considered. It is a free site after all. Still, very disappointing[&o]

No problem posting PIX this way.
This site has the worst software I have ever encountered on an internet forum.
The antiquated method of posting "attached" PIX is a PITA when a step-by-step process is being illustrtaed.
I will no longer post my "how to" threads here as the moderators take my sequencially illustrated text & convert it to attachements @ the end of the text. I have NEVER had another site do this to my posts.
This is done so that the RCU site has control over the photo content of the posts. I refuse to allow this site to control the photo content of my "how to" posts so I now post them on RCG..

I'm more worried about the fact that many pictures that have previously been posted have disappeared

Well, as far as the photo posted with the girl, yeah, I've been looking at the ice cream cone.... uh huh.... really! Whoops.
I don't understand how you are dragging a photo into the text. I tried several ways of doing it and could not. Can you explain?
Thanks,
AV8TOR

RE: Photo upload problems....
The picture I posted on page 1 of the G26(sorry not as nice as the ice cream) was an image off of photo bucket.....I could paste a link to the image or photobucket will give me an image file(like the one below) that when pasted into the text body just shows the picture in the text.
This image file below is the same picture of G26 as post the only difference I removed the Bracket off the end around [/IMG] this bracket keep it from posting the picture for this demo. If I add the ] to the end of the line it will show a picture of a g26....not ice cream...LOL I love sweets.

One might call this an automatic image link......no need to open the link to photobucket it just opens the pict when you are on the page for you.

You can then upload PIX from your computer on the site.
Once you have your PIX uploaded, hover your cursor over the image you want to post & a drop down menu will appear. Click on the image tab & the URL will be copied. Then, just paste the URL in the text.

Just to muddy the waters a little more.... my Galaxy tablet sees all these recent pics aslittle blue squares with question marks in them. Hope RCU gets the bug out eventually.

RE: Photo upload problems....
Look at the number of posts without photo's. Its a website issue, not a pc issue. In addition to the photo uplaod issue, the website has become slower to navigate, and slower to log in. If this were true of all the websites I visit, I would begin to suspect my computer. But in this case, these issues are limited to the RCU website. I tried to send an email to the webmaster of the RCU website, and that too does not work. "MAILER DAEMON< ADDRESS DOES NOT EXIST"
I wonder what the advertisers, and the members who pay money for this service think about the recent situation?

I agree completely, This is the only site I have problems with. I tried to upload some pictures today to sell something and It won't do it. I guess I just won't list my add here.

RE: Photo upload problems....
Well,
rcuniverse's servers look like ancient, either they need to be updated or something else. I have posted an add and can't upload the pix, I'm encountering the same problem. I don't know if those are Linux servers or Windows servers. Are those servers being run here in US or outta US?
