Nice Hawk but those wheels look ridiculously small. I guess that they are going to be using bigger wheels in production units ?
Love the Vampire...... it flies great and for sure it doesn't have visibility problems.
Looks like it was a very nice event.

There was another thread on the big FEJ Hawk that indicated that they were going to make them bigger on subsequent models...

Oh, did it have a jet central motor in it?

That was the new 1.35 version. It had a flame out in a really bad position and Ali did the best he could to save it. I think that happened on Thursday.

RE: Florida jets Photos
Hi All:
It was too bad that my new big Hawk was crashed due to flame out at a bad position. Actually, we got some issuesthatengines couldn'trunning well. It was first time we prepare more models to fly at grass field. We should have done some homework to do extra protection on enginesin order toavoid this issue. Next time, we know how to avoid this issue. we will be better.
However, we all had a great time at FJ 2013. I would like to thanks Frank Tiano and all his crewshave done a great job to have this event secussful. Also, big thanks to Ali to save my models (another two models engine issues to cause flame out). Meet a lot of people and customers. We will be there next year again and bring more models for the show. See you all next year.
Here are some photos that I took during the show.
Thanks
James

That Vampire looks awesome...... I'm really fighting the temptation of buying one. Planing to buy a Derjet Vampire since I already have a turbine for that size of plane, but the big one looks so nice.... [:@] Was this the prototype ? Any changes to be done to the model in the future ? How did the landing gear system worked ?

This was very much the prototype of the Vampire. I think the plan is to lower the turbine so that a deeper cockpit can be used. Right now the turbine is right up front to reduce nose weight. I think the factory is talking of making a lighter back end as well to try and keep the model below 20 Kg dry. Although I still say this is too light a flying weight for a model of this size.. I understand for some countries it has to be below 25Kg wet.
Gear worked ok, but the attachment point on the main doors was not far enough away from the hinge. I pointed this out to them and they say it will be done on production ones.. hopefully my one as well
Regards Al
