Well, I had gear problems as well. I changed all the nipples on the gear cylinders - exchanged them for Festo ones. They are just not big engouh Ihad a feeling - air was leaking out at times. Also I polished the tracks where the piston rod t-barruns - found it a bit rough so the front gear would get stuck. I put some silicone grease on it as well.
I went flying today - after mine had crashed into the field after not being able to take off... Today went much better. I had taken some weight out of the nose and lengthened the nose gear strut and stiffened the spring. still doesn't come off the ground easily, but at least it does come off!

Vic, great job! Break a leg on your next maiden.
One thing that I noticed is that we all get the landing gear wrong. On the original the "knee" actually points forward! Check this out:

Also, I pumped some air in the tires. Brings up the nose some more...

The scissors does point aft on the F-86F...see photo of full scale Sabre I took at EAA Airventure last year.....The Hasegawa scale model also show the scissors aft on the Canadair MK 5.
Also the F-86F Sabre sits level, not nose up when stationary or taxiing....as opposed to the Fury, designed for carrier ops which, like the A-4 sits nose high.
I currently fly a BVM 80" F-86F Sabre and it is extremely light on the nose and sits level with full fuel. As fuel is burned off, CG comes forward for landing which helps plant it without Kangaroo hopping potential. Spring tension on all 3 gear is critical just like in the full scale bird.
Possibly Anton has the main gear too far back on the wing to conform to his internal landing gear mount position?......that could be leading to the CG being fine in the air, but a nose-heavy, runway hog on the ground

the picutre you provide of the original's main gear (3rd picture) clearly shows the siccors pointing forward, doesn't it? Of course I am not talking about the nose gear - that's aft and that's no doubt. But the mains are pointed forward....

The Superbandit is very nose heavy on takeoff due to very forward 32 oz hopper tank which drains last.......it takes all the up elevator you can get to have the nose come up.....fortunately, with the wing design, you can just hold full up elevator and have it fly off with no tendency to snap......same thing maybe with the SM Sabre?........perhaps a little up aileron crow to increase the washout for snap prevention and all the up elevator you can get.....all the power you can get helps to get thru that liftoff phase as fast as possible.....

Are you happy about how she flies? Seems pretty fast on final, are you able to slow more down with more drag and more power to adjust the sinkrate?

It flies really good, better than I expected. This was my second flight since the maiden last september. You are right about the speed on final but am I still getting used to it. I ordered the plane with airbrakes and they were deployed during final, I can tell you that you can feel the plane slowing down making landing more comfortable.

This research ended in a Sabre for me. Keyturn with Jetcat 80SE, Hitec 7955TG all over, sequenser, JR RD921 rx and A123 batteries.
I have not had the time to start the setup yet but will do as soon as possible and take some footage and video of my flights. Still cold winter here in Norway but waiting for green gras and nice temperatures :-)

Later I'll post more detail pictures of my turbine conversion kit.

Ok Guys,
I have been flying my F-86 and since day one I have had issues with the front landing gear. I am using an Ultra Precision valve (UP2) and everything works Ok on the bench as it should be.
Sequence:
Doors opened
Legs Up
Legs Locked
Door Closed
During this cycle and once airborne I got everything working but the front door. Everytime I hit retract switch I got the front leg retract on the door; I don´t know why if everything works Ok on the table!!!

two possibilities:
1. the door does not open
2. the door closes to early.
Which one is it? Have you seen it?
if #1 - well, not enough pressure against the wind. Are you using the original cylinder in the original place? I have thrown that out right away and replaced it with a servo. it got bent every third cycle or so and then the gear door wouldn't operate anymore.
if #2: again, the wind pushes the door. Increase the time between retracting gear and door closing.

Answering the 2 possibilities let me tell you the next:
1. Door always open on the bench. I am using the original cylinder and changed a bit the place where it was originally because I got it bent too after 3 to 4 cycles.
2. Door doesn´t close too early. After the legs are locked in place the doors closed 3 seconds later.
I guess the wind pushes the door and the cylinder is not strong enough to open it while flying. The servo solution seems ok, do you have any pics? Also a new and better quality cylinder might be a good solution, do you know what cylinder to use instead?

Hello again,
I am using a Powerbox with integrated door-sequencer. It allows for four separate channels. So Channel 1 is Main doors, Channel 2 landing gear, Channel 3 front door, Channel 4 not used.
