Need a set of Plans for a GM Precision Products Killer VEE
I need some help locating a set of plans for a GM Precision Products Killer VEE
A flying buddy of mine got out an airplane he had built back in 1984 but has not flown for many years. It's called the "Killer Vee". It was produced by GM Precision Products. He found the instuction manual but cant seem to find the plans for it. He would love to scratch build another one. Is there anyone or anyplace that might have a set of plans for this kit that we could purchase a copy of the plans from.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks,
Jim

This is a good place to post the question, the scratch building forum is another place to try.
Killer Vee I have never heard of, Killer BEE yes, a Joe Bridi design. GM Precision Products is another mystery to me, back in the 80s we had a lot of designers and cutters that came and went over night. I used to run into a lot of the old kits at club auctions. One I built two years back was by Texas Twins, they didn't last long but did cut some nice kits.

Gray beard,
Yea I wasnt sure where to really post this. Yes finding kits these days is tuff but back in the 80's they were here and gone.
I will say though after flying Mike's Killer Vee, It has to be one of the best flying 40-60 size nitro kits I have flown. Thats what is funny everyone I fly with and myself are all hooked on Giant scale 50 cc and larger planes. Til this winter when Mike whips out this airplane and it flys great. Now we fly it every chance we get. Heck I think we have put 3 gallons of fuel thru it since February. We haven't used a gallon in 4 years.
Dave,
Thanks, I appreciate the offer . I will let you know if someone comes up with a set for the 60 size. If nothing else I can scale up your plans.
Thanks Again,
Jim

Well I need to correct. the motor size. Mike, just told me its an old OS 45 not a Rossi. Here's some pictures.
This was built the year the Chicago Bears won the Super Bowl and the only thing changed it he receiver is now a Specktrum 2.4 in lieu of 72 Mhz.

Wow... I didn't know there was a .60 size either. I had......some fun, with the electric version. I didn't have much money back then but I managed to score an AstroFlight cobalt .05. Problem was I could never afford good batteries so the plan flew but was heavy and the power faded quick. I always imagined what it would fly like now with modern brushless and Li-po. Not enough to search out or scratch a kit though. Later I had their Sunbird 1.20 with a Super Tigre 2500. My first giant scale plane. It was a wonderful flier. I loved it. But all of a sudden GM Precision was gone.
I gotta say though. As much as I like the .60 size pic posted, A Super Sportster .60 with a V-tail (and "maybe" a slightly shortened tail moment and 1 rib bay left off each wing) or a Bridi (Bluejay) Sun-Fli with a turtledeck/canopy and a V-tail and you'd basically have one of these.
Hmm...... now where did I put that old .60 I have laying around????
Later,
Mike

I've got the plans for the 40 size. I just finished building the kit last month. Made it electric and it is fast. Too fast for me. If you want to build it, I can ship you the plans. If you want the actual airplane, I'd be willing to sell mine for not too much money. Great condition, newly built and no nitro on it (yet). Let me know...

RE: Need a set of Plans for a GM Precision Products Killer VEE
I know this is an old thread, but if anyone has the manual for the 40 size I would love to know where the original CG location and suggested throws are.
never knew they made a 60 either. I see the GM PRECISION PRODUCTS kits pop up on eBay form time to time, usually its the small 25 size Killer Vee and the Thermal Charger glider (which I wouldn't mind owning) only .
I have an Enya 50CX in mine, but would like to know the suggested throws still.
Thanks,
Bill S.

GMPrecision only made a .40 size and small electric version that also showed a .10 or an .049 option. Sorry no .60 size...Twin_Flyer , I looked for the instruction manual but I sold the last 40 size kit I had, Sorry

Twin Flyer
Per the plans the C.G. is located 2-5/8" to 3-3/8" from the leading edge on the .40 size kit.
The manual doesn't reall say much on throws. On both of the Killer Vee's we are getting the maximum throws and there is no adverse problems with either.
hope this helps and sorry it took so long to reply. I have been busy at work and didnt have any time to dig out the plans.
If you need any thing else, let me know

Finally dusted off my 30 year old scratch built Killer Vee. Even though I redid the fuel tank it wouldn't cooperate today and the aileron extension failed. Everything working on the bench at home of course! I get it squired away during the week and get in the air next weekend. Engine is an Enya .50CX. i forget the name of the covering but its a cloth-like heat shrinkable material that came in many colors, like Monocoat did. i do not think its available anymore, unfortunately
Now a Twin 60 size Kill Vee would be a dream come true!!
