I installed the leading edge sheeting so I could start profiling the leading edge. I also worked on finalizing the servo installation for the aileron. I added a tywrap and installed a grommet where the servo lead will be transitioning to the cardboard tube. I need to buy some servo extensions and retainer clips for the extensions. Progress is halted until I return home from the road. I expect to be home by the week end and start again. I hope the pictures load. I was getting a server process error earlier.
Regards

Also are any of you using Robart hinge pockets? I have the Hinge points but am curious as to how the pockets work. If anyone has pictures that would be nice.
Thanks

Glenn, this post is over a year old. I hope that all is well.
If so, have you made any progress ?

Sebo, Nice looking work. Is that a Super Tigre 3000 twin ? Never saw one of those as I had a Super Tigre 3000 which was a single cylinder monster.

I am still watching this thread. I got infected by "Harley Davidson" and sold my Cessna last year. Looks like the thread is alive and well and I will keep reading the threads here. I look forward to seeing the maidens and please post some videos when the time comes. Keep up the good work.

RE: Hostetler Cessna 150/152
I made a little more progress in the covering department. Here's pictures of the flap which took me parts of three days to do. First I covered the flap completely with Monokote, laid out my corrugations, and used a chisel point on the soldering iron to cut the monokote where the 1/16 balsa strips went. I tack glued them in three places with medium CA and cut Monokote strips to iron over them. I took my Top Flite trim tool and ground a groove in the rounded tip (long wise) a little larger than the 1/16th strip and ironed them down. Used a regular sealing iron to finish the ends and Clear nail polish to seal the back edges. Well, I got an Internal Server Error 500 when I tried to load the picture two times so I guess pictures will come later or you can email me.

Thanks guys. As we all know pictures are deceiving sometimes. I used 1/16 balsa stripped to 1/16th squares. I am not sure if the inboard end of the flap is correct but it looked that way to me. You really have to watch that area and the top of the fuselage to make sure you get the proper deflection.

The inboard of my flap was straight. It matched up perfectly with the fuselage.
I don't have the original plans but I think that I followed them correctly.
If not, who cares, it is ready for the maiden.......now the weather has to cooperate.
I'm following this thread and will post when that flight takes place.
I have another Hostetler C150 cut and ready to build but otherplanes will preceed it.
I'm going to cover it with a plastic film and not sheet it......I want it to come out really light.
I have the "SloGo" on my flaps.......looks really neat when they are going up or down..........you can adjust their speed too!

Some of the earlier 150's did have a straight flap. I think mine may be over exaggerated some but the top view of the fuselage plan shows the curve I used. Here's a picture of one a fellow sent me.

Here's a couple pictures of the left wing panel. Don't look to close as my covering is not the best in the world but it works. At 400 feet you can't see the faults. You can also see where you have to be careful with the inboard edge of the flap. I may have to sand the top more to get my 35-40 degrees. Won't know untill I get the hinges glued in. Pardon the mess.

RE: Hostetler Cessna 150/152
Saul, I am using Monokote since I can't paint indoors and when I do paint it's a mess for me. My problem is I can build great and sturdy but I get to rushing on the finish part. I can't seem to break myself of that habit. The inside of the tips are the worse to do in Monokote. I did manage to get most of the wrinkles out.
