OFFICIAL MINI E-REVO THREAD!!!

RE: OFFICIAL MINI E-REVO THREAD!!!
well might as well bring this thread back up to the front
as I've heard the RPM knuckles, and hubs for the merv are complete trash, and went and researched it and saw a lot of complaints on them ripping apart on the 1st run from various ppl on diff boards so there now out of the question.
Now was wondering are these GPM http://www.thetoyz.com/Traxxas/Mini-...in/GPM/13288/# ones any good? I've read 1 or 2 things, and people said they were great, but not sure if its for that version as it seems they upgraded them.
Mainly wondering cause the stock ones got me fed up as I wondered why it handled like crap, and found the stupid clip pushed out

RE: OFFICIAL MINI E-REVO THREAD!!!
A buddy of mine has [link=http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&W=002155014&I=LXANCX&P=K]these[/link] and he is pretty happy with them. He bought GH carriers and for some strange reason the bearings would not fit in two out of the four he bought, he got a refund and tried the Integy ones, I know it's Integy but they seem to be alright. I think GPM is the only other option, I have a set of GPM shocks and they seem to be pretty well made.

The GH sound almost as bad as Yeah Racing parts I've had. I've tried 2 bearing kits from YR 80% of the bearings didn't fit the RC's they were for(different RC's, found out the other was YR after I got it as it wasn't marked by them), I've tried a c-hub, and knuckle by them with the same exact results the c-hub didn't even fit in the knuckle, and after I grinded the kunkle pegs down to get it to fit it caused binding cause it was 1mm narrower, and pushed the dogbone into the cup, I've also tried a CVD (again wasn't marked that it as made by them on the site I ordered it from...) and the end that goes into the diff outdrive don't fit in the damn cup...
I've used integy rear carriers on a savage, and they seem to do the job pretty good.
Think I'll try the GPM soon(kinda blew my entertainment budget for the month) mainly cause they are anodized black

I'm new to RCU, but not to RC by any means. I wanted to show my Merv to my fellow Mervians!

paint job looks nice, and the wing color really goes with the scheme
BTW welcome to the board

RE: OFFICIAL MINI E-REVO THREAD!!!
well got the GPM knuckles they seem well made
also put the front RPM arms on it(did the rear prior)
at least the wheel wobble is gone from the stupid plastic clips popping out
also swapped out shocks I put 2.22 rates in the rear, and 2.06 rate in the front so far works way better as I don't have to have the preloads maxed. Still gotta swap the shock oil as I couldn't figure out where I put my bottle.

Very cool! and nice paint job and color scheme. Nice wheels! I'm a big baja fan. I wonder if that body will fit my mini Summit.
Here is a pic of my Pede baja.

RE: OFFICIAL MINI E-REVO THREAD!!!
I only run the Losi in the house. I have a pretty big living room and I made a ramp to jump it. It's pretty much going to be a shelf queen. I have to say that so far I'm
happier with the Mini Monster Baja than I am with my E Revo. Even with the dual brushed motors the Losi is better quality. The E Revo is not as fast as I thought it
would be since it's brushless and the plastic drive parts aren't going to last very long. I do have some Lipos coming for the E Revo so I'll see how well that helps performance.

RE: OFFICIAL MINI E-REVO THREAD!!!
Just got mine today. Went and bought some lipos for it. Got 2 3s 1300 for it. Also got a 25t gear. Going to put it on tomorrow. Drove it with the batteries not charged and it was nuts on the 2 3s

RE: OFFICIAL MINI E-REVO THREAD!!!
Gonna be ordering my merv tuesday and im gonna go ahead and fix all of its problems right out of the box( tires, servo, springs, shock oil, steel shafts). While I have the diffs apart installing all the shafts I wanted to go ahead and shim them. Im sure its somewhere in these 176 pages but I dont have time to find it. Could some1 post up what shims ill need to order? Thanks

RE: OFFICIAL MINI E-REVO THREAD!!!
The shims that fit the big summit and e-revo diffs also fit the mini e-revo diffs. I assume from your username that you have a big summit?
Those rims are very cheap and break easily. They are alright if you don't plan on running into stuff.

RE: OFFICIAL MINI E-REVO THREAD!!!
Ok cool. Thanks I was hoping they would bc I have some of those shims left over from when I did my summit diffs. Yeah I figured only being 5 a piece they would be crap.

I just purchased two Team Orion NIMH 8.4 1300mah batteries for the MERV and was excited to see some nice power gains over the 7.2 batteries in series....BUT the ESC blinks red/green, meaning it is in Over Voltage Protection. I looked in the manual and for NIMH, the max voltage is 18v, so my basic math skills tell me that 8.4 x 2 = 16.8 which means that it should be good to go, so what gives? The batteries run fine by themselves and in parallel, just not in series.
Ideas?
