RE: New biplane DIAGUITA build, YS Powered
Hello Adrian, the fiberglass is 2 oz.
Torben, so far the pilons weight 15g each (including wire) but they are not ready, there is a lot of work left on them so is too soon to tell the final weight.

Looks great Tuny. I like that the biplane retains the forward canopy, even with the second set of wings.
Thanks for posting all this. I have been learning a lot about working with these composite planes from this site, particularly Najary's build threads and yours. It is inspirational and fun.

Tuny you are not only a great pilot from what I remember but a master craftsman to boot! Very nice meticulous work, reminds me of the Japanese. Wow!
Venezulea should be proud of you chamo. Even Chavez Rest In Peace I am sure is proud of you from the grave.

Tuny, always enjoy your builds. I've been wanting to ask you if you'd consider the bjcraft fuselages strong enough for this type of conversion to ys. I've been considering trying it after reading your xurma build thread.

I have never seen a BJ craft fuse in detail to give you a proper advice. But asuming they are like any other fuse it could be done for sure.
thanks!

Bob,
i saw where someone in Taiwan, I believe, converted a Nuance to YS. No word on longevity, but it can be done, it seems. A layer of +/- 2 oz carbon or glass cloth in the nose probably wouldn't be a bad idea, and would serve to reinforce the flanges you would presumably make for the chin cowl you'd cut out. I have been spending some time with a friends Episode trimming it out for him, and the fuse is pretty stout. It certainly seems stronger than the PL fuselages I've had, and on par with my glass Brio or an Integral fuse.
