Default Dx6i versions?

I am looking to get a Dx6i, but are they all the same?
I know about mode 1 and 2, but there seems to be a large price variation between different sellers.
I have seen them advertised as dsm2 or dsmx and also sold as the "latest version"
Could someone please explain the differences (if there are any)

Confused
Geoff

DSM2 is the older version and locks on to 2chaqnnels when it binds with the plane. DSMx is the new version and uses frequncy hopping to use 2 clear channels continuously switch to maintain 2 clear channels. You can tell them apart easily by looking at the front of the Tx. DSM2 units have a red 2 to the left of the screen on the case. DSMx units have a red x to the right of the screen on the case. Be aware that there are fake DX6i transmitters out there I know definately the ones marked with the red 2, not sure about the ones with DSMx markings. Best bet buy from an authorized dealer or at least from someone you trust. Good luck.

Here is a vid of the DX6i with DSMX (iE the X on the front) Also a way to tell you actually have a genuine DSMX radio..

the x to the right of the screen is white as shown above, not red as I stated above.

And here's just the "X" decal for sale if you need it.  ;-)
