Default Turbine powerd Batwing paint job

Bought an antistatic gunit hooks to air and 5000volt supplythe idea is it shoots ions at the fiberglass parts and neutralizes the inherent static build up on the parts -keeps them from attracting dirt into the paint. Tried a satin finish and it surprised me with how cool it looksused a flattening agent in the clear coat to acheive the effectToledo is coming fast

wow, the paint makes so much difference ! are you planning on flying any time soon after Toledo Rick ?

These pictures sure make me want to hurry up and get mine wrapped up too! .. I think we are going with electric gear and different retract units.. the KingCat gear would have protruded into the wings .

would you be able to mold up another set of those upper inlet scoops? I think some extra air back there for cooling is definitely a good idea ..

my retract units close out away from the cylinder, and not under it .. This would leave the cylinder having to protrude out into the wing .. its better anyway as now i have an excuse to put electric landing gear in We will still use the King Cat struts and wheels on the mains .I dont know about the nose, and im still looking into air-extending struts that might work on the nose and also aid for take off with a slightly positive AOA, ..

When you have the vents, just let me know how much I'll owe you, and thank very much ! Also, when you have a chance, could you send or post a show of how the vertical stabs are secured inside ? Do you have them right on that rear former Rick ?

I can't wait to see how the wing looks assembled all in paint ! Toledo will never be the same again

WOW ! Thats the model that started it all .. I saw this actual model in person YEARS ago .. at least 12 - 13 .. at the PlanetHolywood restaurant that used to be in NYC. I think it was my refering to this model that got Rick thinking about making a flying on ... am I remembering correctly Rick ?

Id love to know if the original designer ever gave it any thought as to if the layout would be flight worthy ?

nice find on the pictures !

Actually I saw the movie about 10 years after it came out and had a prototype almost finished when I saw you on the form talking about planet hollywood. I recall there was a discussion as to whether or not it would fly and mine had

Yes for static models ,just like the dragon inever seen the model in the air it's like to built race car and receive first place trophy without actual racing the race car ,the model is superb both of them is just on thing if the model don't fly is not an rc airplane or jet is just static model .

I hope too much sarcasm did not come across and i was saying that in jest of course

I understand what you are saying, but Toledo has to be taken for what it is .., and its a static model display show. So is the WRAM show over here in NJ ( used to be in NY ) . While something like the dragon or the batwing could not ever have a chance to even enter in a flight competition ( its neither "scale" or aerobatic competitively ) it is nice to see that a model like this can get top recognition somewhere at least, and on a large scale ( not just some local mall display show, or fun fly )

I have worked on models that I could consider a lot more scale or functional than the Dragon or BatWing, and I would be hard pressed to try and gain preference over something like this. A best of show is not necessarily best "scale" "ww12" "car" "heli" etc .. its more of a popularity award which while most prestigious , does not diminish from the other modelers efforts in their categories.

I know at Toledo the heli guys also had issue with a Osprey getting best heli, arguing that's its not a true rotorwing ...

Ricj has flown the prototype Batwing already, and has posted a few pics , so it does fly . Likely he will fly his turbine powered one before I fly the one we are working on ... so i hope it goes well
