RE: Lock
Hi Gang, Thanks for all of the good ideas and info. I finally got my trailer in time for a few trips last fall. Took it to Rhinebeck, Biplane Bash in Conn. and to a Fun Fly in Verona NY. It is a 6X10 Kristi. I am very happy with it. It tows very easy with my Tundra. I take it back and forth to our local field and it makes things very simple. No regrets here. Thanks again. Ron

RE: Lock
Hi guys, after taking out the trailer to the field I had the mayor problem of the doors closing due to the wind, so with some hardware store accessories I did some braces to keep them open and now I have a clear idea of the cabinet I want for the inside. I will design it to have a working table, a cooler, a radio, some drawers and maybe a small grill.
Here are the photos of the braces.

Any ideas are well received.

Hi eemilioc. I've been to Honduras 3 times. Went diving on Roatan. Also visited Copan. Diving is spectacular, and the rest of the countryside is beautiful. Am planning a return in Feb. 2014. Will have a couple of Salva Vidas.<script id="overlay_tmpl" type="text/html"><div id="" class="_mp3rocket_overlay_style" style="left: ; top: ; width: ; height: ">

RE: Lock
Hi, kwblake, will do. Around those days we always plan a camping at our field, this year was last weekend, so if you are here those days and want to visit just let me know. Also you can look up iguana cup Honduras so you have an idea of our field and club, it would be a pleasure to have you here and also have those Salvavidas.

I have posted pics before of my 6X13 Haulmark "V"-nose.
It has also been here in the Market for sale.
There is 12 volt and 110 volt plugins front and rear inside.
There is a fold down hollow core door to work on planes, cars and trucks.
Rear door is a drop down, easy to walk up and pull Quads and or Motorcycles inside. It's hung from a spring assist cable system.
Axle is a Torsion set up. Tows great and far less wobbly driving down the road. Loose stuff on floor and in cabinets do not move while the trailer is moving.
I added 6 recessed tie down hooks for whatever.
I love having aHobby hauling trailer. You don't need to take your planes into your hobby room's to charge and work on, and when needed you can haul and store your smaller outdoors toys.
Here's where the spare and battery go. The battery is charged off the running vehicle it's hooked to while running and when parked, it's charged by a small Motorcycle top off charger.
My Can am 800 outlander has plenty of room, I leave the snow plow hooked up in the winter and still parked inside.
Hardwood front lower cabinet used to store items needed. and the top to work on smaller things.
roof and walls insulated with r-23 Ceiling wood is Luan, I was always going to ghange it to 1/4 or 3/8ths just never have. Added the ceiling vent and three overhead 12 volt lights.
Area to plug in 110 volt items. Chargers, Drills and additional lighting when needed
View of the ceiling and front overhead cabinet. The area unpainted had a 6'X12"X18" side cabinet. It's hung in my Hobby room now.
Planes off the ground lay on Closet cloths rods which the cross bars can be removed and hang from the side cabinet when unused.

RE: Lock
Hi here again, last week I forgot to put the photo of the lights, there all leds and will be leaving a plug to put a lipo if I need to go in the trailer and don’t have time to connect a line from home or a car battery. Also we have been working on the cabinet and this is how it looks, as I said before I am preparing spaces for a grill, cooler and I installed a radio for fun.
Again any help or criticism is appreciated.

RE: Lock
Well I have a small 95 model 5 x 9 trailer. The roof had several spots that had started rusting. The FIX.... I hope.....
Took a wire brush to all the rust spots, removed all the waterproofing tape around the outside area of the roof. did a good cleaning job of the full trailer roof. My in-laws had picked up this stuff for their houseboat roof. BLACK JACK Elastomeric Roof Coating from Lowes IT is a white color paint that you roll on. I masked the are off, rolled on 4 coats alternating the pattering on each as I rolled. Looking at reviews this is for home roofs and stuff, everyone talked about how it makes the structure cooler. One guy said in 100 deg outside and he can lay his hand on the roof. Time will tell, we will see how this works.

RE: Lock
The stuff should work.
My trailer is only a few years old, but as a maintenance project, I've been thinking about using some type of mobile home roof sealer.
Yours, with the white color, should do a good job of keeping your trailer cooler.

Wow, that's great. I think you win the award for most planes in a trailer!

Here's my ''mess''. A work in progress. I can use the back door as a tuning table. (We recently lost our field and don't have tables at the new field yet.)

Pick the ideas that you like. What works for some, isn't suitable for others..

RE: Lock
I highly recommend using the ideas and lay them out on software such s Sketchup, it helps to plan ahead! It helps with cutting, installing, etc. I finished my trailer in 2010 but have used it few times. The ideas put forth here helped me and still help!
Eemilio, great idea on holding the "puertas" with the wind. I will implement it!

Have made many trips now and works nicely, can carry the two 50cc on the wall and one 100cc and 80 cc on the floor or a 160cc and an 80 cc on the floor.
Any new ideas welcomed
