i have to say the plastic surfer sure looks good. Billy, you are right, in the right hands it rips. If only I could make my doll that nice looking.
As far as the bro surfer  vs.  plastic surfer  I think old skool plastic gets my vote. Billy , you and Kite made it look good!  Sorry I missed the session

Indatube
You are hilarious!  Nice mod on the fin for big waves. lol     Is that the fin for your long board?lol
Jock,
You are putting out some good moves, way to surf the pocket!

Hugh,
Your camera rips!  What size lens did you use? Really nice pictures.

Maui john,
You are killing the lip!!!  911 LIP ABUSE  The green surfer rips!!

Hi Res....... (Sounds like a tecnical spec for a MacBook Pro)

I figured, big surf....... big fin......

But what about courage, confidence and the No Fear, Go for It bravado?

MJ and Kite have 5S / Big Props

InDaTube only has 4S / 435 prop, but with my latest performance enhancement
he is gung ho to take them on.

Also he now has a new left arm.

Hugh's been busy making new version of Silver Surfer that has receiver built into the head so that antenna is higher for better reception on the Big Wave Days.
Rather than destroy old my Silver Surfer, I made a mold & then new deck lid for the new Surfer using Carbon with red Kevlar hybrid fabric.
Here are some pictures showing different stages of the figure's build. The new antenna sticks out from top of head (hard to see in picture).
More carbon still to be laminated to figure.

Hugh, is the silver surfer carbon fiber? we had problems with reception on carbon fiber chassies on the cars, was wondering if you've noticed any glitching or loss of signal. By the legnth of antenna I take it your not running a 2.4 Gh radio?

Later BB

Sorry guess I skipped over the RX is in the head.

G'day Crew,
Things are slowly starting to take shape, have managed to get the board and pod done. Now it's the waiting game for parts to arrive before i go any further (not making the same mistake twice)!!
Have to love the ol 80's boards these things are so thick, the plan was to have enough room for everything inside and mabey a little room to move but to my surprise i can/could get two batts in there, WOW, now to work out whether the extra weight is worth it (525gms), it may be tight but hey that would give me 10000mah....mmmm decisions decisions.
As it stands:- Board/Ol M8, 2 batts, motor, speedie, servo, receiver weighs in at around 2600gms, there's still more to go in, drive shaft, prop, rudder, hatch bolts etc etc so i'm thinking it should come out somewhere around the 3kg mark or 2.5 with a single batt.
anywho here's a couple of pix of the progress:-
Oh yeah CG should be around???
Cheers Nigel

Welcome back to the Coast Tripper, i hope you've been getting on to some of the best conditions we've had in ages, decent swell an offshore YEEEEW no wonder i'm not getting much done.
Yep would be great to catch up, if your into the pub/music scene come on down, 16th April at the Royal. Should be a biggen, my b'day bash an we're playing too..sweet

Aloha Dom & Everyone Else...

Tube City for sure - good to see you are getting into some serious size there in CT.
Dom your wave riding is getting better & better - I can just hear the HOOTS from the gallery.

We are hoping for good waves Sun/Mon - last weekend swell was a bust, so hope this one is better.

Go BIG

Howdy All,
haha that guy looked seriously pissed, what a goose, i'll bet he doesn't have much of / if any an etiquette towards other surfers either

Carbon dude looks great, will be interesting to heard the results

Dom i think that's your best vid yet, more like what i've got in mind at anyrate

Thanks John for the words of advice, i think i'll stick with the 1 batt for now, yeah the extra mah is prob not enough of a pro for the extra weight (and room for that matter). I sure hope he does go fast, he'll need some speed to make the sections i've got in mind for him...lol

Cheers Nigel
