I don't know Mike, that was a real concern.

Mike, every time I think about you, I can't help thinking about the pole you center punched at Texas Motor Speedway. 99 perfect take offs and no one remembers, screw up number 100 and that's the one no one forgets.

If anyone is in on the way from Southern Kansas, B1 Bob is looking to fill a seat and half his trailer.

Hi Bob,

What landing gear sets you have in the Aurora? I am getting one. I plan to go to Mississippi and hope to get my ready by then. I have the Red Ferrari one.

Of course I remember the little A-4 that center punched the pole! Can I at least get credit for accuracy on that one? Nobody could have ever recreated such an impressive feat no matter how many tries, HA!!!

You know what they say Bob-O, it's not what you are known for, just that you are known.

As you regulars know, you don't leave Mississippi hungrey. Thursday, Friday and Saturday mornings will be a great breakfast with pancakes, eggs bacon, and sausage. Saturday nite is the pig roast, mudbugs, catfish, cobblers and ice cream. This year, Friday nite, Randy Brown will be making us BBQ brisket and chicken, beans, potato salad and grilled veggies. His been doing this for a while and he did it for us a couple of years ago. He called and asked to do this on his nickel. All the above is part of your reg. fee. Good deal huh? Fri and Sat lunch is the baked chicken and other stuff at a small price we had last year. It is very good. Don't forget to say thanks to Randy when you see him. Also say thanks to Dawn, Bob-o and Chic for the breakfast.

Funny video

Nothing will ever top the days at Winona with the cannon. I remember one time when we shot if off, the Mayor of Winona, Sonny, who had too many cocktails (moonshine) that night, stood up and said "put more gas in it".

Speaking of moonshine, as the Austin Gang was heading home in three motorhomes, the mayor stopped us and gave each motorhome a bottle of moonshine. Those were the days.

Anyone have a picture of the fireball that was taken at one shot from the cannon?

Come on Bob-O, cut me a little slack here. In 22 years I miss one time due to business travel (drove 969 miles Friday to get back) and sickness (got stomach bug on the way home) and now I don't show up at my own event anymore?

I did consider going fishing with David, but decided it would be more fun going to MAB so I could give you a hard time.

Paul got home about six weeks ago and we thought he would be here for MAB but he stayed a couple of weeks then they sent him to Yuma to flight test four new aircraft. He should finish some time in May, but it is doubtful he will be back first of May.

Can you bring my Boomerang stab? I want to fly it a few times during the event. Oh, you can leave your airplane attached to it. I think it will fly better that way.

Whoa Dennis, I feel your pain. To make to MAB last year, I went from Austin - Lakeland - MAB - back to Lakeland then back to Austin, and that was in the snow. And I'm gonna do the same thing this, hopefully without the snow[8D] And that was 1800 miles, one way.

As far as the stab on the Boomerang, I left it in a tree here in Austin as I tried to fly the Boomer through it.[X(]

As most of you know, MA is a pretty laid back event. There is no pressure except for one thing...me going down the line selling raffle tickets and t-shirts. This year will be no different and expect extra pressure with me employing Kim Payne to help me. So start saving up some extra money,i.e. hiding money from the wife. I will have several items to raffle at the sat nite dinner. Since it's early in the season, some of you are ready to buy another engine. Two of the raffles will be gift certificates from KingTech turbines for $500.00 off for a K-140 thru k-180 or $300.00 off for a K-80 thru k-100. Very nice savings. Thanks KingTech. I'll have several more rc items and a couple of jewelry items (women oriented) so you can get a lifetime pass to MA if you will the raffle. remember, all money raised goes to a scholarship fund for students in the aviation program at the airport we use. David, Dennis or myself receive no money.
