Abu, get you a photobucket acount... its probably BS ... but maybe they are making it act broken so someone ELSE will host the pics?

With as many photos as I post, I really can't be bothered with uploading to photobucket (I do already have an account) and then providing links in my posts on RCU. I stopped posting build photos on RCU for almost a year during the time I was working on my SE5a. I did that build over on RC Groups, which has never had a problem with photo uploads.

Also, since last night I haven't been able to access RCU via Firefox. I'm using Safari at the moment. And the reason I switched to Firefox to beginning with many years ago was that the photo upload on RCU wasn't working on Safari. And it's still not.

I'm opposite my Safari wont access but my Firefox does. The only problem with photobucket type accounts is when you close or reconfigure the tread will loose your pictures, which maybe the info I'm looking for.

You would think with all the viewers and business that takes place on this site it might provide better service. I can't speak for everyone else, but i like to look at pictures.

I wish they would Sticky each forum with what they are doing. A little info goes along way in creating tolerance instead of knee jerk with none. I have only read one place on what they are doing and that was by luck. They are loosing people fast because they will not explain.

Thanks for nothing, RCU. The photo upload seemed to work this morning, but then the thumbnails didn't display (or open when you click on the area)...and so I looked back at my CI thread (and a couple other threads) and found that about a week's worth of those thumbnails are also now lost.
Yeah, thanks. Thanks a bunch.

Same thing happened a few months back, Abu.
There were random photos intermingled in photo sets and sometimes the wholeset in numerous posts that were replaced by the dreaded "red X box". After a few days they were all back the way they were suppsed to be. Hopefully that will be the same case this time around and not like the server crash/meltdown a year or so back where a block of several weeks worth of photos and posts across the entire spectrum were lost forever. Seems I recall the archive block that was lost was sometime from late 2009?
Love seeing your work here, would hate to have to chase you around other forum sites!

I had already decided some time ago that the CI was going to be my last build on RCU. After doing the SE5a on RC Groups and starting a 1/4 scale Strutter on RCSB, i strongly considered moving the CI build over to RCSB (at least in abbreviated form) but it just seemed like too much of a project. It was just simpler to finish it up here. I'm sure I'll still hang around the RCU Scale Forum but I'll be posting builds elsewhere.
Most of the people I know here also visit those other sites, so there's not much of a difference. There's more "chat" on RCU, which can be nice. RC Groups is focused a bit more on electric scale, but the site itself runs well. RCSB can be a bit of a hassle in terms of photo upload size requirements...and of course...it's not a free site...but my preferred level of obsessiveness is probably better understood over there.

I understand. It would be one thing if the owners said archives will be down a month while we convert, pictures will be down until new launch; give us excuses. What could be tight lipped like the SR71, I dont know. I already left a full size site, not because of use problems, but the users were getting too flaky.
