I have 2 of those in my Rafale. Although a bit oversized, but they look perfect.

Hi Dave
I have the BBI George Bush pilots on mine. They look great but you have to cut their legs. Leave the pants afterwards
You can see these somewhere back in this thread

Just note to those of you with this plane...STABILATOR Warning
I was checking my amperage on the elevator servos (gently but with a little push) and found that my left stabilator is rotating on the metal rod.
I had to open it from the bottom and found no glues around the rod and wood/balsa box that holds the rod. I opened my opposite one (that was not loose) and found a good glue joint around the rod.
I am sad that this was not glued properly but very happy I discovered it on the ground and in the shop...

How is everyone doing with their FB F18F?
I flew mine finally last year and found it tail heavy despite balancing in the fwd range of recommendedCG. Takeoff was ok (the 160S X is awesome), noticed a near snap on some banked turns (began right pos snap in left banked turn....). so slowed down a little and eased of the elevator pull.
Setup for landing (same setting as my Tam F18F) but had 45 deg pitch up. Didnt have chance to try my spoilers/brakes, cleaned it up and blasted around again. Got it down for a not so pretty but ok landing with less flap.
I have shifted things fwd and most of the problem should be related to CG, as my other hornet (F) is a *****cyat. SO, I am goign to 120mm for the next one. Would love to hear what everyone else is flying at ..CG..?
Thanks
Dave

I usually land with full flap (about 2-1/4 inches) on my Tamjets F18F with a little up elev trim, I had a similar setup on this FB F18F at the time.
The landing I made afte the initial trouble was made with only about half of that because it seemed a little more manageable.
My Tamjets, which is pretty similar in most parameters, has been fltying well with this tpe of setup since 2005 and is very predictable on appraoch.

Hi
My full flap deflection is 55mm (about the same) with up elevator mix. The landing is very predictable. You can see this video of the 100th flight
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zuzj3gS714
The snap maybe because you have different elevator throws thruout the range. Use 2 channels and make a PMIX with at least 5 poits to make sure you have the same deflection in ALL the range.
My CG is at 140mm, not 120mm.Also make sure that elevator mix with flaps is not more than 5mm, or the tail will drop too much.
Good luck
Nuno

Hi DD
For TO I am using 25mm, but you can take of with more or even full flap.
Try this one at 0:08

Hi
I have 0 weight for balance. My turbine is more forward as you can see per old pics in this thread and my lipo packs are just after the front wheel. I thisnk it is visible in the same pics.
Sorry, but I will say it again - My CG is at 140mm and it's fine. I don't think you'll have a problem with 125mm, but you'll have to work the nose up

Thanks!
Mine is very similar in setup. I see yours is pretty predictable in the turns and doesnt flare too much.
Have you been using the spoilers/LEX brakes?
hoping to get mine to land like my Tamjets...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6gz82gy4brY
Thanks

I have a older one... I also have a couple of skymaster jets from that same time frame... I don't see much difference... I really think back then this one is a little bit better as far as details. But what is out now by skymaster is really nice looking.the scale and details look nicer than the older ones I own.
I will say this Mike at global jet club offers great service. Sometimes that makes all the difference in the world. This is where my f18 came from.
