Default Rudder on tunnel hulls

Why is the rudder on the right of some tunnel hull boats?

I'm fairly new to rc boats, but from what others have told me, it's to get the rudder out of the prop wash.

I have a airboat with a tunnel hull type design. A Dumas Big Swamp Buggy. I want to put a water rudder on it. If there is no prop wash maybe the middle would be the best spot??

If there's no water prop, then I'd say the center would work just fine. Does it already have air rudders behind the engine? Just curious as to why you'd want a water rudder.

your prop turns one way the rudder helps make it turn both way's without the rudder on the right side your boat would flip at high speed. plus i give a better stability.

This thing has an O.S. 55 Ax on it and it really doesn't get all that fast, Maybe about 25-30 bofor it starts to get air and does a back flip. It also doesn't like to turn at low speeds with ou leaning way over. I added a small water rudder along with the air rudders and it helper at low speeds but I feel like a water rudder that stays in at top end will help keep the nose down. I have another airboat that has a water rudder and it helps that one alot. I will post some pics on the next post. I can't post pics on a fast reply.

Don't know how to post pics any other way!! Note that the water rudder I have on it now isn't in the water when it comes on plane and that is where it starts to get light and play airplane. The rudder I want to use will be in the water all the time and the air rudders that I think make it lean over will be removed. Does this make sense to any one??
