Here's the video from the F-104 re-maiden yesterday. Thanks to George and Roger for the video and help at the field! [8D]

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9xHME...yer_detailpage

Didn't do anything really wild, a couple rolls that's about it, just trying to get used to looking at the pencil flying around the sky.
Got a nice reaction at the end from the other jet guys at the field.

Can't wait to fly it some more.

Nice job Sean, maybe I should try another one of these. It is a great jet considering it doesnt have any wings. It will actually glide a long way and fly very slowly....dont ask me how I know

True. It's a kingtech K-100G. s/n 007.
Post #72 has a picture of it, along with a couple of the equipment install.

Thanks must have missed that post. Looks like its a great combo for this plane, Do you know how much fuel the 100 burnt during your flights. iv just got a 140g a few days ago for my carf flash and think i might use that in my f-15 rather and get the 100g for the flash instead.

Kingtech claim just under 12 oz/min. I have an 80 oz tank and after about 7 mins of run time, including taxiing I'm guessing I still had 20-25% of that 80 oz left in the tank. This may go down when I start to really punch it more.
I have a K140 (kero start, but not the G model) in my 30+ lb Hawker Hunter and it performs well.

WOO....Nice job Sean,

Perfect maiden and landing like a cat.

My 104 12 oz / min tank can be installed at the nose of the aircraft,

Very much like to know what the feelings of your 104 for electric power and turbine powered flight.

Because only you can feel! Excited for you.

PS:The drag chute Super cool.

Talk about luck! I can't believe I had the incredible good fortune of being at the field on Monday and watching Sean fly his magnificent F-104. What an awesome model! His craftsmanship is impeccable, the fit and finish of that model has to be seen to be believed.

It was a beautiful sunny day with a big turnout of jets and giant scale props. Everyone was busy getting their planes ready, working on various issues, and engaging in the usual chit chat. All that stopped when Sean fired up the 104. Everyone stopped what they were doing, every head turned, and when the F-104 took off, every jaw dropped. You couldn't take your eyes off that jet! At first I was kicking myself for leaving my camcorder at home, but I was glad I got to watch it with both eyes open! As you can see from the video, he flew it brilliantly.

The flight was awesome, the landing amazing, but when he popped that drag chute, it took the cake!

Well done Sean!

Gene, thanks for the comps and enthusiasm for the F-104! It was great to have some jet activity at the field, usually its pretty quiet during the week.

Thanks, your 104 is off the hook and very inspiring! Have you been getting more flights on it?
It's a totally different model as a turbine vs electric. Besides the obvious extra thrust, longer flight time, and no charging waits, I found the 'sit' of it in the air much more comfortable and the extra speed without having to be at the top of the throttle curve more comfortable. With the EDF it needed more power and that drops off as the flight proceeds, and having to land after 3-3.5 mins was not fulfilling. Now it sounds like a jet (wish it sounded like an F-104) and flies like a jet.
I don't regret the EDF experience, it was very interesting and much more challenging than turbines are, but to do it on a large model take a lot of patience and I think to some extent a willingness to compromise on performance.

You think it is true, it is important, I would like to thank you for sharing.

104 and I are always happy flight day (Thursday), every week, in addition to rain.

Thank you

Tony.
