Well I've tried looking around found nothing, so here I am.

I own a jato 3.3 and was thinging of getting a used Emaxx brushed or brushless (if the price is good) (started offroading and 2wd with offroady wheels dont cut it well)
somehow I ended up looking at 1/5th scale and im thinking, after I buy the emaxx brushed and upgrade to brushless its gunna be around the same price, and the 1/5 will be new and 2.4 ghz and get way better fuel economy?

So how loud are these 2 stroke 1/5th scales?
vs a traxxas 3.3 engine?

reason asking is I drive in a culdesac most of the time and on the str8 aways that are close by
also behind the houses that are fenced with a kinda big yard that is devided by a deep ditch thing... dont feel like explaining XD
so it cant be much louder then a nitro engine

with a stock canister style exhaust they are just as loud as a weedeater

Most tuned exhausts are louder but he ones with a silencer are quieter

Nitro engines are two stroke, at least in car/truck use.

Nitro engines also tend to be louder then two stroke GAS engines as they rev higher during use, with a stock exhaust systems.

Add an aftermarket pipe and they are both loud.

IMO a gasser will last longer then a nitro engine as its not revving as high, BUT they both need a good air cleaner that needs to be cleaned on a regular basis. let it get too dirty or miss a slight hole and the engine will be shot after a run.

If your going to run either close to houses for an extended time, expect complaints!

Don't know how things are where u live, but I live in a built up area, I've run my losi 5ive, 49cc quad and even a 80cc thumper in the back yard with no complaints.... Thats including a few nitro's...Hell the guys Harley over the back fence is ten times louder and so is my car(302 Cleveland straight out of the headers)

If u are worried about people complaining, well maby IC motors if not for u. Well unless u own a farm

My advice, get to know ur local noise pollution laws, and make sure u are doing the right thing, then if someone complains well. Just ignore them and complain each time the mow there lawn

Just imagine running a weed whacker but a bit louder when u rev...or a 120cc motorcycle ..but much

easier to run than nitro.

Most of my nitro are louder than my 1/5 scale and the 1/5 scales have options of quiet pipes to suite your environment.

Just want to point out that a 26cc gasser at ground level with almost any aftermarket unbaffled steel pipe will drown out ten nitros all running full throttle.
